Surprisingly, despite not using memory watch, mike's run did an amazing job with the first boss in scene four. I'm still trying to work out the best strategy, and so far I'm still completing the level 6 frames behind him. Life would be a lot easier if Gens would actually allow me to see both health RAM addresses for the boss though, so far I've only been able to get it to correctly display one, although I have two working addresses. Overall I'm up by about 2.3 seconds, if anyone actually would like to follow my progress. EDIT: Got Gens to stop acting retarded. Boss WIP to follow. EDIT 2: WIP up to Scene 5

Wow, I never thought that people really cared this much about ratings (rather subjective ones at that). I am glad that it has fostered some good discussion, and after reading through everyone's thoughts I agree with points made from both sides, but I still never imagined the flood gates would open like this.

No, but I do think there should be a field that you fill out stating your reason before voting. But even that could be abused. Hey, at least we could potentially know which "no" votes have no basis behind them.
I think this is meant to be for rating movies that are already published, not voting on current submissions. EDIT: wow, 3 people beat me to it in 2 minutes. I don't really have a stance, because I think that the ratings aren't that useful, but it could just be because I don't check a movie's rating out that often before I view it. If it sounds interesting, I'll watch, and a somewhat arbitrary number doesn't sway me one way or the other. Especially today when I found out that there's a member who has voted for nearly 380 movies and rated all of them 10s (unless there's a glitch in the profile statistics calculator). That type of bias leads me to distrust the ratings quite a bit.

Actually, I've heard that if you boil urine, the chemicals left over are pyrophoric and start on fire upon contact with oxygen.
You might be confusing this with the use of urea (one of the organic molecules contained in urine), which is used to make fertilizer. Links here and here Yeah, yeah, wikipedia is the devil and all... there, I just saved you from posting about my source.

Why are we spending so much time discussing this when a simple C function will do the job?

Any volunteers for testing?
Since I have no history with coding or programming, I can only assume this means there is some form of time travel involved :D So in that case, sign me up for a test run!

Ahem, I know for a fact that Chamale and I are teenagers and are in school.
I have no doubts that there are some people here who are in high school, probably quite a few. If it had existed when I was in high school a whole 5 years ago I would have joined too. But like I said, the average age is mid 20s, so they have to statistically be in the minority (unless of course we have a bunch of 60 year olds here just to bump up the average). Anyway, back on topic, I thought for sure there was at least one female here, but I can't remember who it was;)

By fade away do you mean he'll start making crappy runs that get rejected? If so, I'm guessing burned out, but I'm sure he'll take vacations as needed.

That's not true.
Did some research, and the developer website says it can be compiled under OS X, so I guess that means it does exist in a way. I've just used macupdate, which had no mention of it. I stand corrected.

Superterrific action joyride? That sounds like a fun time! JXQ loses the fun game name contest.
JXQ never loses, he just lets you think you've won. If he lost, he wouldn't have an "I love JXQ" fanclub, he'd just be another mere mortal.

It's also four words that don't work for people "still" using computers with PPC chips instead of Intel, although it's probably pointless to make anything for PPC since it'll probably be phased out in another 3 or 4 years, if not sooner:(

Seconded. I sit in school all day in front of my computer, and do other things when I get home (if the weather is good). Since the average age of people on this site is somewhere in the mid 20s, it's a safe bet that many aren't still in school and aren't teenagers ;)

Mupen! Mupen! Mupen! Of course I kid. I'd recommend SNES9X, because it is the only emulator that seems to get equal treatment by each platform. I just updated my emulator collection for my G5 last night, and it was the only one that shared a link with this site (other than VBA, which seems to be behind the times on macs). There is no FCE ultra for macs, but if it is indeed easier to code for the NES, NEStopia or RockNES would probably be your best bet, although I'm not sure if the source code is available for either one.

I saw it too, but I think it got ended quickly because someone brought up the point that it didn't matter. Not like any of the stuff in off topic matters anyway, but yeah, it didn't go very far. EDIT: Here ya go Are you Male or Female?

I gave it some thought, and I decided to go back and change all of the movies from submission numbers to movie numbers, just because there seems to be a little better continuity with the movie numbers. However I think the formatting is fine, so I'll just keep it the way it is. No matter how I distribute the information, someone is going to have a different idea of what will look best, so they can rearrange/change it for themselves if they really want to. I also am still on the border with whether I should include accepted, but yet to be published, movies. Since they're in their own folder and not mixed in with the published movies, I don't see a problem with it, but somehow at the same time it doesn't seem right. But for movies like Vectorman 2, that have been accepted, yet languishing on the workbench for over 8 months due to encoding issues, this is a good way to still make sure those movies get recognition. I'll keep making tweaks to this over the next month to this, but I think at least 90% of the work is done, and I'm quite pleased with the final result. :) Even if hardly anyone else uses this, it has led to me having over 400 movies at my fingertips, and coupled with full goodROM sets, means I'll have new entertainment wherever I have my laptop. I'm glad people seem to like it. EDIT: I've updated the files with the movie submission numbers, replacing the submission numbers.
