Umm... I don't. I strafe swim under water. Unless you meant the emphasis of your sentence to be "hold down", implying that by tapping the buttons at a certain rate I can achieve faster swim speed. In that case, I didn't test it explicitly, but I'm nearly positive that Turok doesn't get a speed boost by repeatedly going into his swimming animation (sure would be a nice place for a RAM viewer for N64), however if you have some evidence I'd sure take a look at it.

Yeah, I'll work on changing all of them over before the next release, this was just done during some dead time in class so it's certainly not perfect, but I'm glad to hear people like the idea. EDIT: Here's a sample using the N64 movies. If it looks like a good format, I'll go ahead and start working on the other ones, although the NES section will suck. A lot. Let me know if there are any more suggestions (maybe about how to delineate between different versions, ie 16 stars vs 120 stars, I can't use ", while some people may not be able to use ') before I go on. **FILE LINK NO MORE**

Oops, used some fuzzy math there :\ You're right, I have closer to 60-70 gigs on DVDs (since they're all mostly full, but not overpacked), plus what's only external drives. Thanks for the correction, guess I should probably take third grade over...

I'm open to suggestions of how to improve it (ie taking out authors real names, using the goodrom names, etc), however I think it's more than workable right now. If people seem to find it helpful I could provide two files about every month. One file containing the new movies to be published for that month, so people keeping up don't have to redownload the same 5 meg file over and over again, and a complete set that is all inclusive, for those who haven't had a chance to get the original yet. Let me know what you think. EDIT: Removed old link

Here is the complete collection of all of the current movies published (not including obsoleted movies) on the Front Page of TASvideos as of November 16, 2007. The format is: GOODROMNAME, movie #, EXTRA DESCRIPTION IF NECESSARY, time, AUTHOR(S) http://vba-m.ngemu.com/personalfiles/TAS_Movies_Collection_11-16-07__M992_.7z Thanks to mudlord for hosting

I still have this game, and never managed to beat it. But you did. Just one question; why did you always fire when jumping? ... But past that, very good movie and entertaining (minus the horribly repitive "Cast" music...), voting yes.
This was a trick found by Nitsuja (like all good tricks are), that allows me to essentially keep my horizontal velocity at the max (for on the ground). Usually after a landing the velocity is reduced to somewhere in the ballpark of 600-700 units (don't have the exact number off the top of my head), while the shot allows you to stay moving at 1024 units. While this didn't allow me to save a whole bunch of noticeable time in and of itself, it did allow me to make longer jumps than I had in my previous run, which cut down on the time dramatically in levels like Day 3. I had this game and it's sequel when I was a kid, and absolutely loved the first one. I got the second one for Christmas, beat it that day, and never touched it again, which made my mom swear she would never again buy me a video game. She's been true to her word so far, and now that I'm in my mid 20s I doubt she'll have reason to in the future.

Well I"m not at home, so I can't gauge how much space my movie collection takes up, but I have about 15 DVDs filled with various television series (ie all the CSI seasons, Family guy, Futurama, etc), plus some other stuff on my couple of external drives, so totalled it's probably around 25 to 30 gigs. My ROM collection takes up about 7.5 gigs (I have the good NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 collections), and I'm working on getting the good GBA, GBx, and GG, which will bump that up to over 25 (thanks majorly in part to the huge GBA selection).

I disagree completely, the bunny hood's only function was to make you "run like the wind" as the jogger guy says. Although I don't have a RAM value to prove it :-\

How funny, out of nowhere I decided to watch the old movie yesterday in between classes, just because I remembered being more entertained by it than by 90% of tv these days. And now a new one to watch:) I'll vote after I've actually watched it, but it's pretty obvious what it will be.

I like it, I like it a lot. I'm one of those who takes tons of checkpoints for my spreadsheet, and it gets annoying pretty quickly. I'm no programmer so I have no idea how realistic it is, but if it is, I'll be one of the first to adopt it. What a great idea!

Fun run, with a game that looks like it's really fun to play. All that and an improvement too? Yes, duh.

Just tested the idea that mike proposed in my vectorman submission about skipping the huge pillars in scene 2... it's so temptingly close, but I don't think it's possible. There is a total lack of enemies near the pillars, and you can't manipulate them to come any closer to get a damage boost, and a simple double jump gets close, but not nearly enough height.

Well, after getting distracted by a couple other runs (ie Spiderman and Vectorman), it's time to return my attention to Turokman! Err... Turok. So I gave up on trying to skip the cave leading to the second key, since I tried wall jumping it for a long, long loooong while and nothing ever materialized. And since no one has shown me any proof that it can actually be done, I'm finished with trying to get it. So here's a long overdue WIP up to the second key in The Jungle, almost 2 months since I last updated. How time flies. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4771/L3%2C%202nd%20Key%20%28-1878%29.m64

At least it will throw viewers off by seeing it later, I know that I would have if I hadn't been reading about it.

Eh, in the two years it will take you to complete all of this you may change your mind;) And I may have overestimated the MK rerecords a little, but I don't think by much. It's a massive project. Just like the other two are. BTW, don't forget to actually study some, college is worth graduating ;)

I dunno, MK64 does some wacky stuff with out of bounds placement. Lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if the was real or fake.

I thought it was a good blend of sacrificing time for entertainment, while still making the game move along quickly. Congrats on a great submission! But I miss your old avatars :(

Comicalflop... you DA man! It seems you are working on 3 or more BIG games right now...I hope you can get them done eventually...
Big doesn't even describe it. Oot is likely to be 5.5+ hours, MK 64 will likely pass 500,000 rerecords by the time it's done, and JFG is another 3-4 hour long ordeal. If you manage to complete all of these at the same time somewhere in 2009 I'll nominate you for ninja on the spot. Or at least master of dedication.

Maybe you should provide a little description, some strategies, or a sample first level or so. You know, just to prove you point a little better.

About 5 minutes too long for me, since it's a puzzle game, but it's not too bad. Meh barely outweighed a yes.
