but the "action figures" or dolls or characters or w/e you call them are exactly the same as lego ones (even the one with a medieval helmet)

i dont get 1up on every bird. i didnt really try that, and player 2 gets some lives too. i just found that i can kill player 2 on more places than i thought i could. i'm making this really a "battle maniacs" run, since the toads seem to like fighting so much that they cant just sit and do nothing, they fight themselves :) (actually only rash kicking zitz butt. zitz doesnt dare to touch rash). i thought i'd have to post this snapshot, but i think theres no use for that thing that i just made happen lol: i would like to see what happens when i bare webbed feet toad touch a ramp, but the ramp is so far, just in order to walk half screen i have to kick the toad riding the bike, so, they wont have life left to get there...

level 2 looked good :) i chose to not get the beak because its slow to hit stuff (even though it has more range, its better to just kick) i only got it at the last 3 birds, because i could manage to not miss the birds using the beak there. PS.: i'm killing player 2 A LOT. and he still has 5 lives left, i will keep on killing him till the end of the game, doesnt matter if hitting him stops the action for 6 frames, i think it ads much more action to the movie (and more score to both toads)

but why not do the snes version? or even the genesis one, since gens is better to record than snes9x? i dont know if its my emulator's palette, but level 3 has a very very ugly color scheme (again, this is not a NES limitation, its just a very bad taste for picking colors...) and again, this is a 2 players game, so... i dont want to see a 1p run through it

1 - No, this is not true. The vines go in time, you can jump from one to the next without touching the ground, like in the library. I was following them as you moved across the level and you could have made it to the end quicker. Extra: 6. Was it not possible to jump further over to the swinging light cables in the library, rather than waiting to the right?
1 - watch the first vine. i almost touch it. but i couldnt because, unluckly, the game is just like that. i cant touch the vine on its first swing to the right. i'd have to wait it go, and then come back, and then go again. see it? now watch closely and imagine mickey going on the NEXT swing (not the first swing, because that one is impossible) and see if it would be faster. it wouldnt.. 6 - yea that was a sad part because no its not possible... especially because of the falling books bellow which slowed me down, again not enabling me to get a swinging rope due to timing. on normal mode there are no books, so i believe its possible to get a faster candle ride there, but not on hard mode (maaaaybe if i take damage on purpose...) thanx for your interest :)

you dont need to see. he goes into the cave, talk to his friends, do whatever he has to do. then he gets out, (the fisherman is not there) stands for like 3 seconds, gets in and out about 7 times, and then the fisherman appears.

here is the first level, it was 500 (FIVE HUNDRED!) frames faster than 1p warpless. and with a comedy twist at the end, i found it very funny :) www.angelfire.com/ex/uobt/battletoads-2p-warpless-foda-level1.zip right click, save target as...

he wants to understand the process in order to get the fastest time possible, because what we came up with is the character getting in and out of the cave 7 or 8 times before the fisherman actually shows up. not very beautifull. and i couldnt by any means get him to show up on the first try, i had to go in back and forth.

2 player warpless for god's sake hehehehe thats a lot of work :P BUT I know of a 7 seconds shortcut that only works on the 2 players run, not gonna tell anyone because i'm making it for the competition at nintendo records. I will have to go back all the way to level 3 in order to make it, though... so... is there an interest on 2p warpless?????? if so, i wouldnt remake 2p warps, i would instead make a 2p warpless and put that shortcut on it :S Phil said hes making a 1p warps (just like this one) and he said he probably can make it faster :) but i found a small shortcut for this one too!! So, the fight is not over ;) (this shortcut can be used on all battletoads run though) And warpless runs can have a different route which wasnt used on the warpless 1p i made (havent tested the route, but i think its obviously faster). so... there are still some new things about this game. Total of 3 that i know of: 1 can only be used at 2 players, 1 can only be used at warpless, and the other one can be used on any battletoads run. ------------------------------------------------ EDIT: i somehow have seemed to miss the point of your post. Now i see it, and i shall comment on it: I think you are right. But the reason it was made 1p warpless and 2p warps is that the first version made was 2p warps. The reasons are clear enough to me: they planned to have only 1 movie for battletoads. Warps for speed + 2 players for fun. I then made the next different thing: 1p and warpless. It was all inverted. I believe that with fceu it is not THAT hard to pull off a 2p warpless. I only want to know if everyone else agrees on this. I really like the idea of having only those 2 videos (1p warps, 2p warpless). If everyone agrees, i will make 2p warpless.

another explanation: landing further only increases the amount of time spent in the air, the horizontal speed is not increased, the only reason i do that is to get the least engine heat possible.

i wouldnt rely on hex editing, the best thing to skip through menus is frame advance, i advice you make a sloppy run through the game, then start over, using frame advance to perfect it
