you said the toughest part was to find the best route, why dont you remake everything now and concentrate on those little improvements? it has to look impressive after all, you cant get it right on the first try. i didnt watch the run, but i know how bad this game is. if you can make it entertaining and fast please consider remaking it..

i used B to accelerate to max speed and then i used A to keep the max speed because i need a cool engine later (there just werent enough cool down points on those tracks) and shakespeare, try doing what you did but on the track that is on the run, not an easy version of it. tracks 4 and 5 i held left to do wheelies and it didnt slow me down at all, you only need to hold B while on the ground in 2 occasions: - your speed is lower than normal max speed (it accelerates faster than A) - your speed is higher than normal max speed (it will keep this highger speed, unlike when you accelerate with A, which slows the bike down to normal max speed). - if you are at normal max speed exactly, its best to hold A button so the engine doesnt heat unecessarily.

i already have a run on such a track, but i just lay the H ramps ramdomly, it gets an insane speed but thats pretty much everything that happens on it. http://www.angelfire.com/ex/uobt/excitebike-ju-demonstration-foda.zip right-click, save target as... Edit by Bisqwit: fixed link

you might have misunderstood me, i always though star wars for nes was ugly, not nes games. you cant tell me all nes games look good, dont put them all on the same pack please. some look great and some look bad, just like games today.

http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1024&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 i wondered... sometimes when making a run we try to make something, like a jump and we cant because of 1 frame or 1 pixel... i wonder if playing at a different sound setting would somehow enable us to succeed, since the game is "working" differently? what exactly happens at different sound rates?

actually i understand what truncated said, and i already tried to record f-zero like that, but i was still under the world record time, i guess it indeed changes the forward moving speed

actually, shakespeare, you played on training version of track 3, not real one. win it and the next one will be the real track 3 (because you chose to start on track 3, you had to play its easy version first...)

hmmm what amused me the most was using death as shortcut and those gravity switching jumps ignoring enemies, good job on the olives thing though :) i also found funny how you jump over some enemies (like the bull) and that knight with an axe at the entrance of a castle trying to poke you from behind :P lol too bad there are long walking sequences, but very well done

pick mode A (you cant hit each other), thats the one i played. unless you want to do the refill vitality trick: kill friend that way you steal his life and his energy fills up, then friend kills you and he steals one life from you and your energy fills up. But you'll need to be extra carefull when playing this mode alone. especially on the fighting with spikes areas where you can easily through your friend into the pit.

that cooldown point would make no difference to take. "i went for it" even though it was impossible, just to show it was impossible :P but was really not needed. :) yea i'm a show-off you got that right hehehe
