(right click and choose "save target as...") old: http://paginas.terra.com.br/lazer/parasempredaniel/pitfighter-foda.zip new: http://paginas.terra.com.br/lazer/parasempredaniel/foda-pifighter-hard-wip.zip by the way, old was played at level 3 difficulty, and new one is at 8, the hardest =) and i also got a better score now

Phil: When it is possible, it should be always played at hardest mode.
he said that about my pit fighter run, which i wrongly did at default difficulty. i agree most games should be played on hard mode but i think castle of illusion is an example of how that is not always true. see the biggest difference about hard mode is that the bosses get double energy. and that makes the run 25% longer. and repetitive. there are a bit fewer enemies too in some places, and the fact that they aren't there would make it faster too. but that difference is not very noticeable. the bosses being long and repetitive is a major problem, imo. if the run was made for fastest time possible, taking damage, it would be important to remember to always finish the levels with only 1 energy star left, so that you get smallest bonus count the at end of the level.

i always watch the runs on the original famtasia (because when i change speed it slows down too much on the 60fps ver) and i never had any kind of problems...

Bad news : No luck with manipulation of random encounter rate yet.
anybody knows how they program the ramdom battle encounters? do you think it could work like in zelda 2 where the enemies are really wandering around, but here they would just be invisible? maybe you can find a 100% transparent sprite using a rom sprite hack, put some color on it and then be able to see the map mosters? i don't think hacking the rom sprite would desynch the movie. if you are lucky to find that sprite it could be a big help, huh?

my most recent acquisition is PONG, released in brasil as TELEJOGO (it has 3 built in games: soccer, tennis and squash). but i think the question is which of your systems was released last. that would be my gameboy advance. i'm gonna buy a xbox soon because i want to put all possible emulators on it with all complete roms sets on it's hard disk (i'll get a big HD to put on it). the systems includes nes, snes, atari, master system, mega drive, gameboy (all versions), gamegear, and most 2d arcade games. i think it can also run psx games, but maybe not all of them. it's possible that it can run turbografx 16, nintendo 64 and odyssey, but i didn't search for info on that yet.

guys, plz read this: bisqwit REJECTED my castle of illusion run (http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=340&start=15), he said it's not precise enough. i want to see him make one more precise than this. this is not a super mario 1 competition for frame perfection, this is just another game. There are many games posted that even take wrong routes and he accepted them. but my video is as fast as it gets and he said it's not accurate. that sux you know. the game was voted and 90% of the people said it should definitely be added. but he ignored and made his own decision. that's right, voting is useless. don't bother boting for the runs cause you're wasting your time.

you can also dodge thrown knifes by kicking at the right moment (works like a "duck" move)

double dragon 2 has a pretty cheap and 100% effective tecnique vs any enemy: do a whirlwind kick, and if he ducks, when u land on the ground, u do an uppercut, it hits the enemy 100% of the time.

well, zakatos... if i am not mistaken, my run was made BEFORE yours.. it was being discussed on the sega genesis forums. i just took more than a month (maybe 2 months) to submit it, cause i got some things to do. i was making an ecco the dolphin run when i stopped with timeattacking. i will continue it again now. i wanna watch your run. maybe you did something faster than me. like they said, your game was played on normal mode that means the bosses have less energy. i think it's very hard to improve my run, especially because i do some very very hard jumps.
