i knew this since i bought the game when nes was the main videogame. funny thing is that back then i had a japanese version too. i sold everything to buy snes, and now i bought nes again and my arkanoid is on my 110 games cart. it is jap too. that's why i found it weird that the usa version is diff, i had no idea.

my, mistake, i played it, and when u select a level, you can only select to 50. i played through level 50 and it went back to level 1 when finished. i played 49 and it went to 50. i don't know if it was because of the cheat, or if the game is only 50 levels.

on the computer playing demo mode (wait a few secs, u get the story and then computer starts playing) the A button functions can be command by the player! weird, huh? funny thing is when u get the red shooter power, you can fire madly, especially on the 3rd demo where there are big gray blocks, you can get the red shot very early. now i haven't tried this on the emu yet, but i almost cleared the stage on my real nes. The demo plays only for a short period of time, so u gotta be fast. question is: what if u clear the whole level? will it keep playing on an empty screen? will it crash? will it go to next level? lol.. gotta try it on the emu. ps.: i only tried this on the japanese version

for any enemy, the fastest way to kill is to do 3 punches (or as many as just before the final blow, asap) and instead of doing the final blow you wait for the stunned status to go away, so u start again before they can move. just as josh said...

the sega genesis controller design is great, there was a NES version in Brazil named Phamtom system that used the same design as the genesis 3 button controller, and it was very good. the problem is that on the genesis, the inner rubber of the button is maybe too hard, so you can't feel whether u have pressed the button or not. it doesn't have that pleasant button pressed feel, it feels more like you are pressing a ball of paper....

i don't have to prove anything to anybody :P i mean, if there was a videogame world champion title someone would want to prove that he is the best, but who cares how good you are in a game, it won't get you anywhere... games are made for fun. legit runs are insteresting only if he does really amazing stunts, but even so, i don't care if he did it "legit" or tool assisted, cause i don't give a damn about how good the player is, i am amuzed by the stunt itself.

i just found his response to my voting on CT kind of offensive, so i said CT is better than alttp. yea, it's subjective, and the only way you could get close to saying one thing is better than the other when it's such a subjective matter, is by having a poll.

it has better music, better art, better story. better fighting. :) u get more involved with the characters. that's not proof though, the proof will be the voting result.

Am i wrong or there's a warp right on the first level that takes to the last one? ("FODA sees a faint image of what he's saying now dating from over 10 years ago or maybe he is just crazy") =)

i never had this kind of problem. i had a NES, and then some friends had the MEGA DRIVE wich was "clearly better". i played a lot of both of them untill i got a super nes. then i played super nes and genesis only, never had a problem with it, both have great games, just the mega drive controller kind of sucks, i think. then i got a playstation, it was great till it dismantled like they forgot to tighten the screws on the factory. maybe it's because i used a lot of copied cds, but hey shhhhh it broke in 2 years, i always used unlicensed games on nes, genesis, super nes and they never complained.

the only dragon i recall being on the game is on "candy land" inside the bottle on level 4. the boss of level 5 is a guy with a hammer, and the final boss is the evil witch.

hmmm it doesn't go back on the movie record, so it doesn't work. also, the slowdown key has to remain pressed so you can get slowdown effect, wich sucks for recording.
