ah come on man, i don't have time to do resavings... it's just level 12! it's a HUGE time saver... :P my icq is 135910397 and by the way, the movie needs a better codec, 140 mb is too much isn't it?

OH MY GOD! I FOUND A BUG IN THE GAME THAT ALLOWS YOU TO FINISH THE 10TH LEVEL JUST BY BEATING THE FIRST RUNNER! WOOT!!!!!!! there i was, trying to make a speedrun without savestates, and then at level 10 all was going well, i had used no continues, no warps, and playing on the keyboard at full speed. after i get through the first runner (i kicked the bomb) i always wanted to give him a big headbutt attack but all i could do was hit him with puny punches. i knew i could hit him, just needed the right timing. this time i did it. i hit him full power and he bounced up. i then did a big boot kick on him and for my surprise it's the level complete music!!! the level ended and i was at level 11!!!!!! genisto and phil, sorry but u gonna have to do level 11 and level 12 again cause this is a glitch that has to be used on the timeattack. i got the fmv for famtasia, if u want to check it out i can send you. i am 99% sure this glitch have never been found, so here it is for your delight ;) use wisely

hmmm i tried doing a run on NESTICLE using the keyboard and virtual fps at 40, but it has some scroll bug or something that on level 4 i wasn't able to see the platform under, so i didn't know when to jump, i landed on pikes, so i gave up by the way, there was a bug at level 3 you didn't do on your time attack, it goes like this: just before getting into the jet-moto thingy, you RUN (double tap) and JUMP in a way you will hit the car while going up. that way you will do a big jump that will be enough to go screens up, you will fall only 6 seconds later or so;...

And yes, I do visit the clue room. In a perfect run, however, you wouldn't need to visit any of them. As I recall, the password is the same whether you visit the clue room or not... so if you start a movie (and, say, save it and copy it at level 1) and then with the first copy, walk through the game and visit all the ? rooms as normal, writing down the code... and then for the second copy, just ignore the ? rooms and go for pure speed. the password SHOULD be the same.
i would consider that cheating as it's impossible to guess the code without visiting the hint rooms on the real game (unless by a heavenly strike of luck you input the right code at the end of the game hehehe)

i watched the movie by arc (sorry i don't know how to use famtasia very well so i didn't see ur movie), but i think that showing what happens at extreme mistakes shows better the humanly impossible factor than just doing some perfect scores. it's ok to do a perfect score once, but as u got 3 free tries you want to make 3 different extreme things instead of 3 equally perfect ones. i'm not saying you did all perfect, as you said you didn't, i'm just pointing out how i think the track and field movie should be done

i see, so the deal is not that you must jump on the front wheel, that is just a consequence of holding FORWARD as much as possible. you tap back for as minimum as possible when landing and then you keep on holding forward again. you should have said it that way, i would've understood :P good movie

ok, you are the first person i know to say that gauntlet 2 is better than gauntlet 1. let me point out some reasons why gauntlet 1 surpasses gauntlet 2 in every aspect. gauntlet 1 has incredibly good MUSIC - gauntlet 2 has no music!! how can a game about mazes be played without MUSIC? way too boring! in fact ANY game that has big silence sequences or repetitive "shooting" sounds as the only auditive experience is an invitation to push the POWER switch. Gameplay: there's no discussion here. the elf in gauntlet 2 walks slower than the warrior in gauntlet 1. and the shooting rate is SOOOO SLOW on gauntlet 2 that it makes me wonder if they had a very old pops for a beta tester. It's barely playable. Or maybe they really didn't care about the quality of the game as it would be just a sequel to a good game wich is enough as a selling factor. Graphics: nice try with those shadows. but the game is not about graphics, but about HORDES of enemies taken by 1 or 2 heroes, so the lighter the details on each enemy the better. At gauntlet 2, i also have a feeling that i'm playing some DOS game in CGA mode, as all i see is red/black/white/blue colors. even the main character is pure shades of 1 color, as are his shots. gauntlet 1 has much richer scenery and level design. gauntlet 2 has voices. sure i love hearing a loud OUCH OUCH OUCH everytime i get hit by enemies, the only thing you can do is turn off the sound and play some cd. the characters in gauntlet 1 has very unique qualities, the elf for example runs a lot but u better run past the enemies cause he is a poor fighter. in fact it's hard to beat the game with him because he simply can't deal with the enemies at the 5th (last) world. the wizard seems like a wiser choice as his shot power gets very good later on. gauntlet 2 on the other hand looks more like sprite change of the same character, as there is little to none variation on their abilities, thus making the game quality drop miserably. in resume: gauntlet 1 is a game about surviving in mazes filled with mad enemies while gauntlet 2 forgets about that and make it a game about "my nes can play voices". i think i take the first one.

ok the question was not very good then, i meant "what makes a game more entertaining to watch?" hehe i'm gonna edit it. there because if you base entertaining on "taste" it's a bit shallow isn't it? there can be something more solid there to define what games can be more entertaining to make a timeattack
