Is it a demand to TAS from ISO or can it be done with a CD-ROM?

That worked!!! It played the movie I just recorded. (I used the version which had that Checkcdrom() thingy). The only problem is that it didn't record the buttons (square, triangle, X and O). I guess that's the input plugin. It did record the arrows and START though.

Yeah, still crashing even when using all types of different plugins and different ways to try to playback the movie. :( Maybe it's my game? I'll try another one. edit: still crashing.

Could you please test with another CDR plugin like Xeven's CDR Plugin on this page? Also, could you test replaying the movie this way?: 1. Start the game normally using "File->Run CD". 2. Once in-game, press the "Start Playback" hotkey ("Control + R" by default) and let me know if it still crashes.
It crashes when using the file menu or using the ctrl+R hotkey when using either CDR plugins. Here you can see which plugins I'm using as well as the configuration of the TAS cdr plugin: http://img255.imageshack.us/my.php?image=movieplaybackerrorso7.png

Uhm, if it only crashes for you since 0.0.6 it must be because it now calls the CheckCdrom() to get the current CD ID... Are you using the default TAS CD-ROM plugin or another one?
TAS plugin yes, it crashes. It also crashes if I use PEOpS CDR Driver 1.4. I could record the movie fine, just can't play it back. I'm using a game CD (not image), and my cd-rom is standard "D:"

you can download an interim version with that bug already fixed from here: pcsx-rr-v007-beta.7z.
When I click file - movie - start playback, it crashes the emulator. Is it a plugin issue? edit: it crashes when doing the same on the 0.0.6 version downloaded on the first post on this topic. It doesn't happen on version 0.0.5 which I have here on my pc. It only crashes when clicking "start playback". It crashes immediately even before I can browse for files. It crashes even when there are no movie files inside the movie folder.

Great movie!!! I have a question: Is the bat necessary to skip the Richter fight at the end of the first castle, or is it needed for something else? It looked like it took a long time to get that form, and I know it's possible to reach Richter without it. edit: and oh yeah, we need a glitchless run too plz :)

This is mainly because of the new rating system, which will round up ratings in the long run. For example 9.4-9.7 are replacing 9's, as well as 8.7-8.9 possibly representing what would have been an 8 before. Same thing applies to technical.
Maybe people should re-rate every movie they have already rated? At least those they rated in the range 8-10. Of course I advise against doing it without actually watching the movies again, especially if it has been many months since the last time.
OR we can wait for them to be obsoleted and rate them :)

I think it'd be best if the AVI reproduce exactly what happens on the emulator. If the emulator instead has a faster loading than the playstation, then that is ok.

WIP - 33 Stars Done (what ShinyDoofy posted) Anyway, so yeah, there it is. I'm redoing much of it (for the last time..) because of all the new timesavers, but this should give you a good idea of what's been going on with it. Enjoy, and any/all feedback is appreciated. I'll try to answer any questions about it, but just keep in mind that all the obsolete stuff will be redone.
I was either thinking "damn why didn't I think of that?" or my mind was being blown away. keep that up!

rated 9.1/9.9 This is an amazing work, shinryuu and our japanese friends. It must be thilling to have it finished. I enjoyed every bit of controller input there. The only reason I didn't rate it 10 for entertainment is because there were some unecessary waiting periods the programmmers put in! I had to fast forward on those to see the awesome moments of control :)

(Audiosurf) I liked it a lot for a week, but then the gameplay got me disapointed because it didn't feel like having a lot of replay value, as impressive as that may seem for the concept of the game. But for its price, it's really good.

This game tries to break every game concept but it is in fact just a platformer. "Promising" concept but failed execution.

That's begging to be assisted by tools :P
There's no point in that, it has a built in tracker already with 16 patterns, all you need to do is know how to compose and you can do anything. I have no musical training at all, but the moment I touched this piece of software I had no idea what was coming. The sound quality is incredible and loving techno music as much as I do, I couldn't put it down for 3 hours straight. Still pick it up from time to time to play around.

R$ 599,00 is the price in Brazil. It's hard to imagine a price for say, the U.S or Europe. The PS3 and Wii are sold here at such an expensive price due to import taxes, so maybe the components in the Zeebo are imported as well, making it's price be 599,00 (or 270 USD). So on another countries it should be cheaper. Funny that.

12/11/2009 http://jovem.uol.com.br/ultnot/ult530u6448.jhtm (it's in portuguese but there's a video) Brazilian company Tectoy, the same company that is officialy licensed by SEGA for production and comercialization of sega master system and mega drive (genesis) to this day, has accounced today at a press conference in São Paulo the new console it has been developing along with Qualcomm. The console's name is Zeebo. First of all so you get an idea, they said at the conference that it is capable of displaying games with quality very close to that of Resident Evil 4 on the playstation 2. With that being said, comes the especifications: - It has a built in HD. Games will be sold exclusively on a download system connected by 3G (cell phone technology), and the user won't be charged to use this system. - The controller is connected to the console using a regular USB port. It is similar to the classic controller and has an accelerometer for movement sensitive games. - It will be launched in 2009 in Brazil for market testing, and possibly worldwide afterwards. - It'll start costing R$ 599,00 (Brazilan Reais, not USD). The Wii and ps3 are sold here at about R$ 1.800,00 - It will feature games like "Quake", "FIFA", "Crash Bandicoot racing", "Resident Evil", "Street Fighter", "Ridge Racer", "Tekken", "Virtua Tennis", "Double Dragon" and "Sonic". - The games should cost R$ 20,00 at an average. It sounds good for the brazilian market and other markets where the gamers go side-by-side with piracy, because of the low cost of its games. But I think it has no chance on places like the U.S or Japan. I may buy it anyway if it features some good old and new games. I'm intrigued by this "Double dragon" though, does that means NES, SNES, arcade, master system, neo geo, mega drive or GBA?

I'm not sure if I used it backwards or to go UP hills. The C^ glitch was on one of my wips, and I can't even remember if I discovered it or if it was known. The thing about the C^ glitch I remember is that velocity keeps increasing as you go down the hill and it keeps increasing until you hit something, so you get really fast. But you go in a straight line. It in fact is present on my 120 stars TAS at the slide level in Tall tall mountain. I just don't remember using it after BLJ, but if you say I did then maybe I did. It's been so long now. edit: oh so you had the idea to use it, but nobody put it to practice. You have great memory :P edit#2: from my submission text: in tricks: "Camera up, "C" button up (C^up) Done by running towards a slope, and then entering free look mode by pressing the "C up" button and entering the slope during the slide stopping animation. Only works on some slopes. The effect is that Mario instead of stopping, has his speed increasing constantly, without a limit. The bad thing is that the initial speed isn't that great, and Mario can't turn (moves in a perfect straight direction). Can be cancelled anytime by pressing a button (Mario sits and slides, gaining back the control). " (this is probably wrong in that it only increases velocity if mario is going down the hill, and it decreases if mario is going up). in special thanks: "JSmith for finding the C^up Glitch!" edit#3: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3709935749980051826&ei=sRYYSfX5NI6qrgLC2PnLDQ&q=super+mario+64+120+stars#1h19m08s

I prefer the old forum because I think there's too much frame shaving nowadays. People were less nitpicky about that back then, it was more about what was visually entertaining on the video. Now all people seem to care about is numbers. I don't know, I don't have the free time to spend hours testing if something saves a frame here or there. Also I got discouraged about that whole super mario land 2 emulator bug incident. But that's about the people using the forum, not the forum itself... About the forum especifically, the rating system sounds great but maybe it's overly complicated for something that's very subjective. I think the "technical rating" should be removed altogether and unify it into 1 rating system: "what did you think of this movie?" going from "boring" to "awesome!". It's (should be) all about entertaining, right? Just my suggestion.

Cheapest wired optical mouse. I've been getting this bug A LOT on mouses recently: when I click, it fires multiple clicks, and this is SO annoying! I hit the mouse against the table really hard and it stops for a while and then it starts doing that again. And this has been happening for a lot of mouses on several different computers.

I'm not sure how or why they would program a animation routine to be an exception to the frame check for mario's water state, what makes you even suspect such?
Because animations system and controls are directly related to each other, so sometimes programmers do these kinds of checks on specific parts of the animation system.

it shows hehe, it's NES :) I looked for the answer to the umbrella one, and it's from a game I've never played and actually dislike, so I'm satisfied.
