I'm sure this is possible on a console, although it's probably very difficult to get the perfect timing of dying, fading the screen, and getting the 1-up. Go talk to Mike Uyama on this one, I'm sure he can make it happen if it's possible.
So for the bug to happen, all you need is an extra life at ANY moment during the fade-out or is it on an especific frame?

Not only lag can make a 2 player movie slower. Other characteristics include: - bugs (NES Battletoads level 11) - different characters and powers from p1 and p2 (SNES BS Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero)

I've been through HELL: - when I've competed with Phil in NES battletoads. He's either a complete genius or did TASing all day long. Or both. It was a nightmare and very disappointing to see his movie work so well. I know how hard that game's physics is to control and to optimize. - when I had to find motivation to continue making the first 120 stars TAS of super mario 64. It took me a full year... It didn't disappoint me much when Rikku quickly made an improvement though, he could work on it real quick and that is good, but my slow progress on the game kept me wanting to TAS/play something else, and so I did several times. Interestingly, making ebtertainment out of waiting periods is by far what I like the most about TASing. It symbolizes really well what a TAS means to me = "owning" a game so easily that the main character seems to be just having fun.

Why would help be needed to translate a little bit of katakana when he has to translate the whole game? It makes me wonder about the quality of the translation.

I'm waiting for a reply how it could be faster, even Swordless Link agrees the video looked fine.
I want to try it myself, I'm not very good at explaining :)

It is interesting how our perception of game visuals changes based on how well we know each system's limitations...

TASing has occupied my useless free time. No more free time = no more TAS! OGame on the other hand....

The black belt one looks like a TAS. Small description text deserves no credit.

The run would be "just" an incredible conceptual achievement had it not been for the most entertaining bowser levels and castle shortcuts, which makes it an completely entertaining run! edit: watched it again. Feels nice to see some of my strategies used here. :) congratulations again!

The ONLY point of expeditions is to find Dark Matter for free. If you want to use expeditions for profit (resources, free ships), you're wasting your time. It is more profitable to attack innactives... But it is fun to see the stories they came up with hehe.. I'm playing on uni34 only now. Rank 25, part of an elite alliance called MYTH. Now I really get the spirit of ogame... Making defenses only is stupid :P I never realized how costly it was to send big fleets in attacks, so as long as you're not a profitable target, you ARE safe.

Explanation of the screen scroll warp glitch (how to do it was not discovered by me, I read about it on some website). On the last castle, right at the entrance, if you run and duck just before hitting the left side of the screen, you'll find that it's missing the lower invisible block, so Alex starts to "get in" the left side of the screen, until it scrolls. This causes the game to bug a bit, basically you stay on the same screen, but the enemies and items have shifted 1 screen. You can keep doing this and they shift 2 screens, 3 screens etc, until you can have the enemies from the last screen on the first screen, and then the enemies from the next "level". If you do it again it will reset the game, if I remember well. This would be useful to get to the screen with the princess, but I couldn't get it to work because of the way the last castle is modeled.. The princess is on an upper floor, and you can only make it loop to the same or lower floors. Something like that. Here is a test movie, and the map of the last level (janken's castle). http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/34750257/alexkiddmw-foda-v13.mmv http://www.alex-kidd.com/miracleworld/maps.php The glitch is only possible on the last level, as much as I've tried to make it work on the other ones, there's no open block on the left side of the screen on these other levels...

Ah.... I can't watch it :( So you didn't go pacifist? I would watch this run and my Adventure Island run side-by-side for interesting comparison. How long was my run again? hum.. 37:01... Maybe the difference is caused by level transitions, or character speed. edit: lol stickyman05.... =)

I would try to find something else to do instead of causing a lot of lag. If it is just a little lag, I would break some bricks (not many).

1000 doesn't automatically strike me as a big number. I thought it'd be on the ten thousands. :( But congladuration us!
