Yeah, it's been a while. I remember burning COMPACT DISKS (have you heard of those?) to keep those awesome avis made with famtasia from ever disappearing from the face of the Earth.

I've always used an old version of spacemonger to measure disk space. But wow, I've just tested space sniffer and it seems way better.

On my camera I was surprised to see two pink lights on the wii sensor bar, but then I figured what it was. So, on my camera it shows pink.

A co-worker of mine did this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcAdO3PtyVw It is a motherboard that accepts atari 2600 and odyssey2 cartidges and controllers and plays them apparently perfectly. Outputting to vga. I wonder how hard it is to do this, as he said it was easy but I don't think it is. I know nothing about electronics so... edit: I didn't mean to kill the thread, I have the tendency to do that with my slightly off topic replies. Please ignore me.

"Large studios" are comprised of people whose jobs depend on the income these "large studios" get. This kind of anarchist thinking needs to stop. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for indie (see my avatar), but I really don't like this hate "large companies" get. If you don't like their games don't buy them, but to think you have the right to steal just because they are faceless things is wrong. Also, on topic, why would FLAC be better than having the original music rom like nsf, spc, vgm, psf etc? Would you record it from real hardware?

I've always been on the side of shortest time until the ending is activated. If feels to me that ending input too early and delaying the activation of the ending sequence is like not getting the job done right. There are other points though for example in my battletoads movie I have ended the input way after the ending was activated so I could accelerate one of the dark queens final messages, but that kind of thing is up for debate for each game I think.

I've just noticed that speed demos archive accepts the SNES speedrun of BT&DD as a record for the genesis version of that game. Am I the only one who finds this to be in contradiction with their verification policy? Is this a widely accepted practice in the speedrunning scene even outside of SDA?

I've done a new painting on colors 3d: http://colorslive.com/details/1058157 I looked at a photo for a few mins, then closed it, painted some, then looked again 2 more times. I believe 30 mins only accounts for the time when colors was open, not the time I took to analyse the photo.

Was pretty surprised to find on #12 of this list a track from a game I had never even heard of. I was pleasantly surprised. Very unique style. Trancy. The composer seems to be called zts.
It's sad that there is no vvvvvv, hotline miami or dustforce among the top 250.

It isn't only damage that influences it. Starting position greatly changes the strategies. Still, it's the same levels, but I still think that in-game clock makes a lot more sense than overall speed.

That thread I pointed has several level times achieved through TASing and links to real time runs. Some of the real time runs were faster than the TAS which was weird, but there were no videos to compare.

If I recall correctly, my first TASes on this game were aimed for level times, not total run time. here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2093

virtualdub. work with lossless codecs until you're ready to do the final encode if you want the best quality.

He talks as if Zitz was Mario but even if Battletoads was that famous it would have still been out of place. A true wtf moment indeed.

Not being optimal doesn't mean it isn't TASed. Look at the gruefood forum :)

So, I got the refund after a series of tickets and getting some generic responses from them telling me to try to fix the game. They made it very clear then that steam doesn't generally offer refunds, but since the game was still in pre-order they would make an exception and give the refund. The game is already out of my game list and they said the credit card should send the exact amount back to my bank account in 3-5 days. A really amusing side of this is how some players react on steam forums to people asking for refunds. For example: http://steamcommunity.com/app/221380/discussions/0/828935672622545093/ People are willing to accept broken releases and losing money as if it was a sign of how strong they are.

Yeah, in Brazil it's also more consumer friendly. I'm not sure what can be done from here though and if it's worth the hassle... I've just openned a ticket anyway asking for a refund. It's not clear if this case fits in the exception described in the policy, since the game has not been officially released yet (it's only on april 9th), but pre-orderers are already able to play it.

Is it legal to do that? Sounds like a crooked deal if you can't get your money back in case the product doesn't work. As I mentioned in the other topic, age of empires 2 HD was released on steam, but it doesn't work on my pcs (and there are several people reporting the same). The same thing is happening to hotline miami. So I wanted a refund, and discovered that: "Steam Refund Policy As with most software products, we do not offer refunds or exchanges on games, DLC or in-game items purchased on our website or through the Steam Client. Please review Section 3 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information. Steam Subscriber Agreement Steam Subscriber Agreement An exception is made for games purchased during a pre-order period if the request is received prior to the games' release date." That sounds illegal. What can be done besides not buying anything on steam anymore (since it can't guarantee it will work)?

So, it's this friday for those who pre ordered! I'm eager to see how the update plays. I fired up my old copy of the game and the unit response was really dated and the gameplay felt really slow. Maybe the 60 fps will improve the unit response. edit: The release version is having serious fps issues on several PCs. That sucks. The devs said they're working on it, but if it doesn't start working I'm gonna have to ask for a refund. It's unplayable. The user patch 1.2 applied to an old version of conquerors works better, but I got the same problems with it, so I'm worried. edit#2: changing the desktop to a single monitor removes the fps issues.
