he made some pretty inventive new stuff, but the main improvement comes from previously known issues.

This is something that's bothering me. In the first level, there's one of those white things that you can duck on and fall into the background. However, it seems that you fade back into the foreground before you can reach the end of the level. What purpose, exactly, does this serve?
1 - fun 2 - getting away from enemies. but mostly fun

Already found it a while ago, but don't hesitate to show things if you're unsure! we may not know it and it may be the key to 1 star runs.

One thing that bugs me: when he asks people what country should be invaded, and then shows a map, how come everyone always chooses the country that's been put wrongly where Australia should be? the map is there already...

IIRC, this was my first one: "NES "1p warpless" Battletoads (USA) in 27:33.38" (2004-05-20) I submitted it by e-mailing the file to bisqwit. Movie description: "This is a 1-player warpless Battletoads timeattack on this hard game." heh, I wonder what it would be if it weren't a "battletoads" timeattack on the battletoads game. Could it be a ninja gaiden timeattack of this hard game? :P

Finally found it (it wasn't easy), and now that I've tested it, I'm posting it here because there may be others who have always wished something like it. http://www.superfamishop.com/moonshell.html That is version 1.6 of the moonshell for nintendo DS. It's a type of media browser / viewer which can be used on various types of storage devices for the NDS. I've tested it on my supercard CF. It can read media files that have not been converted before. Just copy the original file to the device and use the mooshell to read it. Here is what: - display jpg: the image starts at 100% size, you can use the stylus or d-pad to pan. X and Y are zoom-out and in respectively (it takes some time to reconstruct the image while doing that. I recommend to use only images at 1024x768 maximum) - play mp3: the quality is very good. it becomes a mp3 player. - play nsf: again, very good quality. the only problem is that each track reads as a single file, and it can only display 255 files on each directory. So you need to create a folder for each nsf, or group of nsf. The music plays for a certain amount of loops. It has a nice fade out when changing tracks. - play spc: the quality is good on some games, not so good on others and slow on others. It's worth the try, most good games play very well. The music plays for a certain amount of loops. - for these music features, you can start playing and then close the DS. The music keeps playing (going to the next track normally when each track ends), and the screen's light goes off. The L and R buttons are disabled, so you can carry it on your pocket without accidentally pausing the music or going to the next track. But you'll have to open the lid if you want to do any of those. - I've read it can play mpg, but it's very especific format, haven't tried it yet. If anyone knows of an even newer version, or a better program, please do reply.

If he collected 2 coins less along the way, and took that red coin as a last coin, it would probably be harder to acces the star.
Maybe you're right. On this especific level that may be fastest. But it's weird : /

- he took 102 coins on WF. that's proof of improvability. - he didn't choose stationary camera when exiting the aquarium. - I really wish you don't do PSS twice in the same way, but that's just me. show us that 12'2" is possible. according to rikku, after WF it's 13:24 (rikku) and 14:07 (FODA). about 43 secs difference

I'm sure there would be ways to modify the console hardware to allow for savestates and frame-precision playing, but I think that outputting keypress sequence files for them would be out of the question. They'd have to be recorded straight to AVI, and then none of us would be able to confirm that they're legit TASes as we can with emulator movies.
I think it's easier to consistently playback keypresses information than implementing savestates.

It isn't classic, but I dare you beat double dragon 2 controlling both characters. (It's possible, I did it). Or Super Mario Bros 1 using just your feet. (it's possible, there's a video somewhere on the internet. I haven't tried it yet, but I don't think I'd have much trouble getting it done, maybe the hammer brothers would be the worst part).
I used to do that (controlling the second character with my feet) with Battletoads in Battlemaniacs and Golden Axe 3 when I had to get to a certain point (such as the end of second level in GA3 to test the double magic thingie). Playing Battlemaniacs through entirely like that is impossible, though — the end of the hoverbike level is damn hard even when using hands.
Believe it or not I've reached level 8 on battletoads NES controlling both toads.
