Right, but does it say that Zelda or Wii sports is region locked? that was a general warning. It might very well say in the zelda box that it works on any wii. Ok, i've read the box. it says my zelda is for use only in america. so, yea, that woman was wrong afterall :P

How can these 2 games be region locked if nintendo announced none of their games would be? where did you get that information from? "First-party games for Wii will be region-free, according to NoA's vice president of marketing and corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan." source

L4yer you're mixing region locking with game versions. I said it's not region locked.

I use the keyboard at all times, except for mario64 because i had to use something analog. So i used the psx controller for the gamepad, but i kept my hotkeys on the keyboard.

The only way a 70 star run would seem legit for me is if either no BLJ is done within the castle, or no BLJ is used anywhere. Of the choices chef stef provided, I would probably say 4 makes the most sense.
I also feel this way 1 - doesn't use the BLJ glitch 2 - completes the game as fast as possible 3 - abuses other programming errors 4 - manipulates luck

oh yea, it could be for the fool-assisted speedruns site: compete to see who can find the quickest star to get, but starting the level with "Z" button pushed all the way. start from 120 stars acquired (all doors unlocked).

I like the second screenshot idea, but I prefer mario's eyes opened. The first one is good, but too litte :P

But one option saves, while the other doesn't. And saving stops the game for a bit.

just a few reminders: - some 100 coins might be faster to do with different (faster) stars, or red coins stars, differently than the 120 star run - remember to choose "NO" everytime the game asks to save

I'd be interested in a dual run if watching one of the games (or both actually) separatelly would pass for a normal TAS. So, choice of game is essential.

My guess is that bowser hit the bomb too high, so he bounces a bit more. I didn't care about this at all, so i think 16 frames sounds even too little comparing to a mininal run? Maybe this has to be put into thought.

AKA meant the bowser3 fight alone ;) It might have been 16 frames slower, I really didn't check, sorry. But i'm not remaking. There are various other improvements that add much more than 16 frames improvement.

Just a word of advice to everyone about the AVI: Let's try not to spread it around, because it's incomplete/unoptimal compression, etc. It's there so you can watch before the real AVI is out.

Thanks. yea, the movie file was still screwed up, even after hours trying to fix it. I've updated the file now, it seems fixed.

H:MM:SS 1:42:41 thank DeHackEd for awesome emulator movie space (end input problem fixed by adding a couple of extra frames after grabbing the star).

Bisqwit will probably override the limitation and add the zip manually. He's asleep, let's wait.

JSmith, If you're talking about the first trick, he was actually hitting mario's head on the ceiling, which was low at that part. it had nothing to do with ground type. I can't explain the "wall walking" trick. Wouter: thanks :)

Just informing that the 120 stars TAS is done. I'm on the process of submission, with a little problem that the submission form limits the zip file size to 100 kb, but the zip is 125 kb big. Should be fixed soon.

It was finished after AKA's, wasn't it? Anyway, they won't encode it because tomorrow or next week someone will show up with a 5 frames faster run, and it should be published too? what about 2 frames? or 1? The run needs to LOOK different.
