That's not what asteron and I were talking about... He didn't activate the BLJ on the stairs, he was just able to go through it while at high speed (it isn't stairs, it's a flat ground with stairs graphics). It isn't a slope in my concept because it works like ground, only it's tilted. Slopes make mario slide, and those can't be walked on while BLJ running.

I define "slope" as planes that make you slide if you stand on them. The rest is ground, like those stairs.

good point, i don't think i'd have enough speed at that part. anyway, i tried BLJ in the ice cube maze and it didn't work, the ceiling is too high.

which was done by me in the first place. But those cases use a continuous uneven ground to go up. Can't be done on slopes and can't be done if the there are obstacles.

AKA: i had played that before using a hacked rom i think. it'd be useful... if we just had memory watch functionality, it would be easy. Jammer01: i know what you mean, but the LJ-wallkick seems to be faster because after a backflip mario doesn't have much running speed to go up the necessary bit before doing the backflip-wallkick up to the star. mr_roberts_z: he meant in snowman's land, not SSL. About BLJ in snowman's land, it might be possible in the ice cube, but i don't see where it would help. Maybe in red coins, if there was a way to do it and fall on the plataform with the shell without losing momentum (so i'd substitute the shell with mario running ridiculously fast backwards). But that goes agains the rule of it being on higher grounds than on the BLJ triggering point.

Sorry to ask but, do have some sort of university degree? Graphic design and Institutional design (dealing with logos, brands, and everything related to the company's brand style) should be handled by an apropriate professional. It's not a matter of knowing the tools (the programs) but knowing, amongst other things, that there are many important rules underlying a brand which must be followed when dealing with it. But well, since it's not a regulated profession on most places in the world (it would be otherwise prohibited for anyone without a degree to work on it, like it is with medicine, architecture, etc), i guess the company can hire anyone for whatever price they want. But most of the time the work isn't done very with the required consistece by these people (obviously) so the profession as a whole loses. I'm sorry to rant like this, it's not your fault, it's just what's been happenening for the past couple of years with all these computer graphics programs flying around. That being said, i'll give you a tip on that jpg you posted. You need to choose what's more important and make the other elements less important. Everything is getting the same visual weight and that doesn't look good.

If i got all red coins then the 8 red coins star would show up. What do you mean dive? before getting the vanish cap? it would perhaps make 2 frames difference if it was straighter. It takes a lot of time to optimize angles in this game (or any analog game i presume).

Nice progress, AKA. Your projected final time is shorter than i would expect. On the 120 stars side, i forgot to post the testing of snowman's land. it has been done for almost 2 weeks now... *sigh* good news is it's in video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0B65ToliaE it's just a test, comments are welcome.

the ledge is not invisible, it's there, but there's a triangle block completing the wall so it looks... complete. You need to grab the seam. It's hard, i would say if you can't get it go back a little more and do the jump at a different angle.

looking very good, except for that angled jump into CCM painting. why was is worth it to do the lobby glitch to enter WF but not CCM?

Apparently this game is quite known. I used to play it on the DOS. I really laughed out loud when the game ended! awesome. yes vote.

You took a hit on the first round, so i stopped watching. Also, you didn't use the re-recording emulator.

Just making it on the emulator makes no difference, unless you used savestates and slowdown and a perfect movie. but this doesn't seem to be what happened since you've lost some rounds.

If you want to show a normal play of a game do it on the speedrun competitions forum. "Other games" is for TAS discussion.

If i restart the run now... what? that'd take another year. I've been busy with real work lately.

guys... just watch it and take notes of the frames when mario is in front of the painting before entering the level to the frame in front of the painting after going out of the level... it shouldn't take longer than an hour.

The run is an obvious YES vote. There seems to be some heated debate going on, but i think it should be settled on making a better movie than this. While they're at it, publish this movie already!
