This movie gave me emotions. I would happily watch it twice, and I loved the play arounds during wait times. yes vote anyway.

The first 24 pages (that's up to where I tried watching before giving up) in this thread are 90% full of links to videos that don't exist anymore. Just saying.

anta is the name of a species of animal, but the word is mostly used as a slang in Brazil meaning a stupid person. Exactly what he is not, this is crazy genius. Good job there bahamete, I also wonder if this is a trend, because honestly this is the kind of stuff that is hard to find by trial and error as a way to improve a TAS.

To be honest it is my opinion that there be sepparate branches (pal, ntsc).

I would like to see it in wireframe too, as the black color doesn't help to see the modeling, which is being showcased. It reminds me of something I made (sorry not youtube, requires shockwave plugin): http://www.angelfire.com/ex/uobt/castlevania-gitanno.html It's something I made to help my friend visualize the label he was about to print. I had originally made the board with contacts, but it didn't export. Modeling screws is trivial in 3d studio max, given that you know your ways around the modifiers.

As he mentioned in his post, the grenade trick only works when psycho mantis is shot as early as possible on each cycle, which he could do before but cannot replicate on the current run. He needs help to understand why that is.

So maybe you could analyze both runs and see if you improved over something from mugg's run.

I can assure you many users here are artists that use 3d software as a tool for their jobs. I have been working with 3d modeling and animation for 10 years now, going from architechtural visualization, educational animations, entertainment animation for tv and real time 3d/pre-rendered 2d action games. Unfortunately the market here isn't that well developed, so I had to learn a bit of everything: modeling, texturing, animation, rigging, lighting, rendering, video editing, sound editing, art direction and graphic design. That means I'm not really a specialist at any of those, but the advantage is I can do the whole thing on my own and understand the process. Nice render there warp!

I like that suggestion very much. It doesn't generate questions that would only be "answered" later on, adds variety, etc. Unless it doesn't work, but it seems that it would work well. Heck, maybe it would mean some really difficult battles due to low level and lack of skills, which is interesting.

But why would it have to be a math skill run? Do an entertainment based run.

I've stated this before, but I'll say it again: I think we need to start with a run, a run that gets done. It won't be perfect, especially in this game, but we need a starting point. I think it will be easier from there. (life is short, and when a game gets years of planning it gets you thinking, doesn't it?).

Well, the ending theme for smb3 is ranked 248 :P I guess it just means a lot to me then, or perhaps people are unfamiliar with the song and rated it based on the first notes. The second part of the song is so emotionally driven, it closes the game in a perfect way. It felt like zelda, blaster master and bionic commando were overrated. Blaster master and bionic commando seem to be games that were pretty popular back then in the US, but they weren't released in Brazil, even by pirate manufacturers, so I look at these songs freshly new and they don't mean much to me. I can instantly appreciate a lot of tracks from the list that I had never heard before though. I just feel that these 2 games get a lot of praise from nostalgia. Zelda, well, I don't know, I guess hearing the same loop on every zelda instalment gets old. I'm updating my playlist with games from the top 200 right now. Some great stuff there.

I suppose it will be some heavily emotionally driven, familiar music, judging by what's been shown.

Can we guess which music are left? I think that we'll see the ending of smb3 at #1. edit after seeing JXQ's post below: mm2 willy 1 at #1 and smb3's ending in #2.

Maybe we can make a top nes music list that doesn't include music from the best selling titles. Actually, even some famous games have music not featured on the list. I doubt the theme for the last fight in double dragon 2 will show up (it should!). I would've rated higher chip and dale, mc kids, silver surfer, gun nac, street fighter 2010, yo! noid than so many shatterhand, megaman and castlevania music. Actually, those titles I just mentioned aren't the top obvious choices, but are still rather known. Perhaps it's tough to dig quality music in lesser known titles because obviously not much work went into those.

Just watched it. Guys, the run was insane. Are you sure you're not robots? I couldn't do what you did in a million years. It showcases incredible technical prowess. I didn't know it would be THAT different of a run, but wow. And I had a few laughs throughout!

I prefer the E version and I suggested it to feos before he started the TAS, but he said no for no given reason and I left it at that.

I'm happy to see the technodrome's theme in tmnt2 ranked high. I still remember the first time I got there and was greeted by that incredible track. I just stopped playing to listen to the music. Also, the intro from tmnt: I used to turn on my NES just to play it LOUD!
