I have to make a few comments:
1)The bowser fight seems much better now.How did you manipulate his move with the hand? By entering the pipe later? It appears that it was from the position and angle entering the pipe, nothing to do with the frame 2)I liked how you pressed the vanish cap switch without touching the ground afterwards (and avoiding the switch message). I am looking forward seeing the metal cap switch (if you are going to press it after all) Yea i'm gonna hit the metal cap just for the sake of it :) 3)Have you checked if it is faster to jump after you have killed the boo to enter the BBH? I think Mario doesn't have to do the whole animation to get into the cage I haven't checked that, never heard of it, but sure will try. (in this case i'd have to remake the ghost hunt) 4)Are you positive that 3x diving isn't slower than 2x long jumping? I saw this also in the BOB. I'm not positive. But 3x diving doesn't have the same length as 2x LJ. This doesn't make an excuse at BoB but it does at big boo's haunt 5)For some reason I didn't like the 100 coin route. My record as you can see in www.sm64.com is 1:49 for this star. Your time was about 1:38. Not good for a TAS. Here is my route. I don't know if optimizing this route will be faster: Yea, my 100 coin was not optimized either. And asteron already suggested using the blue coins in the attic. One thing i forgot is about the ghost there, so instead of skipping 2 red coins below, i'll skip the whole coffin room. This should make a much much faster time. Good luck! thanks

that could be usefull if you could: - easily toggle it on the press of a hotkey - selec the palette color the pixel must have to activate a button press.

Thanks for all comments, much pleased to hear it. Also thanks to asteron for the tip on the blue coins, i've been thinking and yea, that must be considerably faster.

Yeah i tried that before, but doesent seem to affect anything. The numbers keep on running in the lower-left corner though. But it doesent show any input being given anymore (+ i can control it myself :/)
If you load a savestate on a movie that is being played without read-only at least ONCE that's enough to erase everything from after the savestate, so it's useless to try playing the movie again. you have to download it again. And you must mark read-only inside mupen64, at the movie play screen, not in windows file properties. -do this: -download the file again -open mupen -open the rom (wait it to boot up) -go to movie play and select the file -mark the topion "read-only" that is in mupen64 (not the file properties) -load the savestate that i provided or watch the whole movie

thanks The z+b move is used when the longjump would be... too long. and the simple "b" dive can only be used when you have a lot of running speed, or else mario will just punch.

Haven't thought of that, and that's a good idea. But now i have to choose 2 red coins to ignore. Most probably the ones at the book shelves room with boo picture in the base floor.

http://rapidshare.de/files/17700788/supermario64-120starstasWIP-foda-v84.zip.html has 35 optimized stars (the bowser fight is different, and it has vanish cap star, and go on a ghost hunt star) 36th star = 100 coin (unoptimized) 37th star = ride big boo's merry go round (unoptimized) So, i'm posting this to find what you think about my 100 coin route. Never mind the angles and timing, but comment on the choice of jumps i made is appreciated. Also, suggestions on different coins to take too. But i think these are the best. The only "ugly" thing is going to the back of the house for 16 coins. But i guess there's no way around that.... edit: oh yea, slot 8 has a savestate at the start of the bowser stage.

http://project2612.org/index.php sorry if this is old news, but zophar.net hasn't had an update so i had to dig the internet to find this one. and it's much better. - adjust song length, fade out, and more options - smaller file size than GYM - GYM crashed my winamp when going from a song to the next one... this doesn't - many more music sets dumped.

Thanks man, I'm going to vote for your movies from now on.
that's not the way to go, voting is not a favor, it should be based on the movie.

Was it a desync or did you take a bunch of damage on the Statue of Liberty stage on purpose? Other than that, I found this more entertaining than the previous versions and will be glad to give this a yes too. I especially like how you end input before the game is really over.
there is no damage in this game, it was bumps to show off :) neither the player or the enemy was damaged. (if the enemy attacks you once, you're dead)

There's many bugs in this version like enemies passing through exploding bombs.
yes there are many bugs, but this in especific is a characteristic of the game. he who throws the bomb won't be hurt by it. you need to at least punch it while in the air so it will hurt the enemy...

nice. - i don't understand what is the "maximize" field. you say it's very important, but i couldn't find anywhere explaining what it does. - how do i set a goal "ram(05A4)=82" AND max amount "frame=20"? i tried "ram(05A4)=82&frame=20" but it doesn't work

Are you serious guys? Personally, I think it is an easy but excellent game. I think I can beat FODA's total time but it has been long time I haven't played it. Imo, the american or european version are harder.
yea, the game is very easy. and yes, the american version is harder than the japanese version, but just because the enemies have more health. that's why i think a run of the japanese one is better, because it'll be shorter.

How about this route: 1. Bowser 1 2. Vanish Cap (through the glass obstacle in basement) 3. Re-enter Vanish Cap and Exit 4. Big Boo's Haunt 5. Dire Dire Docks 6. Bowser 2 7. Other basement stars (LLL, SSL, HMC, Mipses, Toad) Haven't tested anything but if the Vanish Cap can be gotten this soon, it looks pretty good to me :)
yea, that is my route ;)

I wouldn't give bisqbot so much attention on that page, because i've seen people think these runs are entirely made by robots, and if they go to the page and see that screenshot first, they will burn into their minds that these runs are made by robots. And we don't want that.

i think both runs should be played differently, like i suggested on the snes one. try pacifist on one, and all out speed on the other, or something different, since pacifist in this game is impossible.

the big boo's haunt door is a load door, so, BLJ would only help going accross the corridor, but going through the door wouldn't do anything. i think i've tried before to BLJ on those stairs, but the steps sizes are different from the infinite stairs, i guess that's why it didn't work. But i'll take another look. Anyway, it took me 1 (z+b) and 2 running dives + hop to reach the door, starting from the hall door, which is quick, so i don't think that BLJ there would help, but well remembered, i should try it.

I just noticed google videos now has a "gaming" genre, so it would be best to change all to that genre isntead of "animation" and use that genre when submitting new videos from now on.
