very interesting, but two things bug me: - wasn't it possible to hit two enemies at once on level 1? - why didn't you use the downwards sword thrust in level 1?

i think it's pretty interesting for people who can't get past the first level

yes delete obsoleted videos. humm i just copied the info from my videos... You can go ahead and put the extra info, sorry about that. I would suggest changing the title slightly to add more info about the movie like "warpless" "no damage" or "2 player" whenever it seems important and is an impressive feature of the movie.

The glitch has nothing to do with rings on the screen, it just happens after you've passed the endpost if you have all the emeralds and more than 50 rings, and you've jumped in the air. The only way to pass it is to either end up going off the right side of the screen before the glitch happens (and thus causing the results to appear), or have debug enabled and press B.
That's obvious, but the author did a big mistake to put a RING after the end sign. That's the bug in the scenario i meant, not a bug in the game, it's not the game's fault. It's a flaw in the scenario design.

Last time i saw the WIP, it had 10 seconds of actual gameplay. This is impressive to some extent, but for me, i don't like this game and the run was very repetitive so i fforward to see boos battles only, and even so it was boring :P

playing white land I would be incredible because of the ramp shortcut, one of the biggest and most daring jumps in the game. Nothing "oh espetacular and unexpected" but its the best i think the game can offer for a TAS.

Like i said, optimizing is not a problem. I know how to optimize. The problem was that i couldn't 100% analyze in every level what would make it faster, i lacked the brain power to do it, and i certainly don't have time to try to do it ramdomly. Those ramdom tips are obvious and you can see them on my video.

A TAS on grand prix mode, master difficulty just the "white land I" track would be incredible.

The level of planning put into this is amazing.. I have one question: on the Chin boss at the end of level 2, wasn't it possible to drop him off the ledge withtout making him bounce on the ground? what made him die? when he falls from the bottom of the screen or when he goes past the right of the screen?

he doesnt speak english and here is the translation: "FODA i'm gonna answer for you, so translate please... In order to compare 2 movies, first I record an AVI of the movie to be obsoleted, the former record. I record it with "input" and "time" visible... Then i open it on "virtual dub" which is a video editing program. I open the emulator and start recording my movie. That way i can compare 2 movies visually, and analize the time differences... That added to the EXCEL table makes an excelent method for comparing movies." ----------- My answer: Ok that sounds good, i didn't think of recording the input and time visible, that would make my life easier comparing things in mario 64... if it could display time and input on the mupen64 screen -_-

Wow taking 10 seconds out of 72 seconds sounds awesome improvement, keep going :) About the other movies, there are many deserving to be published, but it seems that genesis doesn't get much love here : / edit: for those wondering what's written on his table i'll translate: "Time comparison in the Golden Axe GMVs former time - current time - partial difference (frames) - accumulated difference (frames) - difference in seconds - difference in minutes stage - hour - minute - second - 1/100 of seconds (he made a mistake he wrote "d" for tenth of second, but it should be "c" for 1/100) start first speech group etc etc (of enemies i believe)" Neofix: que screenshot é esse? você colocou os emualdores tocando cada um 1 filme diferente e começou os dois ao mesmo tempo e depois capturou a tela em vídeo usando algum programa? Parece um jeito interessante e prático de fazer um vídeo comparativo. Mas talvez fosse melhor deixar uma janela pequena no canto, ao invés de ficar no meio outra janela... what screenshot is that? did you put the emulators playing each movie and then start both at same time and then capture the screen in a video using some prog? it looks like an interesting and practical method of making a comparative video. but maybe it'd be better to leave the small window in a corner instead of blocking the middle of the big one.

I don't think it makes any difference as opposed to going through the sand, expcet on the first lap. If he is using the Nitro boost (2nd lap and so on) he can go through the sand without losing speed (apparently?). The thing is there is nothing new compared to the speedrun.

there must be something i'm missing then. they are optimized to death using the knowledge i have, so i don't see how those times are possible. yes, this is my final version and those records highly discourage me to finish the video. I tried to dissect the elements that were key to getting a fast time on each stage (like starting the level on the last possible frame so that the rotation would be perfect etc) and i've defeinitely made turns on the last possible pixels, and still they got a better time. I guess i missed to realize, for example, that on the first chalenge level one should make an average of going up/down instead of going down the least at the start but then having to go up a little more at the end. it's hard to get a perfect score in any level length, the difference is that there are too many good players trying hard on the small levels, so its hard to match those.

I had this problem in gens too, fixed by loading 10 roms located in the hard disk (to erase last roms history pointing to cd-rom drive)
