interesting, i don't know the game much so i have only one question: was it worth to go all the way down just to get the troll paralysing bombs? i think you only took those bombs there, and you used only once.

FODA, yes the P-wing will speed up vertical levels in Pipe Land, but I don't think it will help on airship levels because it'll take longer to kill the bosses without firepower/hammers.
hmm yea i think you guys are right. maybe there's some way to wall jump and get the scepter though?

And those levels where you grab a flower are basically just the ones where the pathway isn't long enough for Mario to gain full speed in time. They make up only a small portion.
no, it seems that mario can go that extra bit faster and get the flower before it turns into a star. i know because i competed with genisto at the warpfull version and sometimes i got the flower at 1-2 even though i had full speed way before even reaching the black screen at the end.

You sure know you can also stab to the sides. It's faster to swing your knife from left to right to left to right then direct stabbing (i think). And yea i think the way the enemy dodges is directly related to how tired both of you are. If it looks impossible to hit him at a certain point, that's probably because you're too tired and he is not tired enough. There's no way aroung it, i think the fastest battle would be to dodge enough so you can start a single killing sequence of swinging stabs untill the last one that kills him he could almost dodge, but couldn't. Unless the enemy just stands there so you have to "poke" him so he starts moving hehe.

points which i'm 100% sure about: - as fast as possible (no fireworks) - using the frog suit will be usefull on more than 1 level. - yes kill all the hammer bros, fire bros, and pirana plants. no don't go into all the mushroom houses, just the ones with usefull powerups. - running is faster than flying - p-wing can be very usefull in vertical scrolling levels and at the boss of each world (so you can grab the scepter before it eneters the screen, which results in a much faster after-boss animation). - it's "ideas" not "idea's" ;) just saying it because you said so many times lol never mind. - don't worry about getting 99 lives they will eventually be there. - sometimes you can get the "flower" at the end of the normal levels even if you are running at full speed. i don't know what causes that, but it surely would be better than slowing down a couple of frames. things to be discussed perhaps: - showing secret bonus games. - give more importance to killing enemies or gettings points/coins? i vote for killing as many enemies as possible without slowing down. - hammer bros aren't monkeys.

The star is not useful. There are no doors remaining that Mario needs stars to open. The last star is only acquired because it's needed to make the water shift away so that the last stage can be entered.
why did he get the other stars then? ok, the stars before the 8th one i know were needed to open the first door, but what about the other ones? all were needed to make the rabbit appear? couldn't he have ignored one of them and grab the rabbit star instead?

kurukuru kururin: i finished all the chalenge courses and the training courses. Now i got a big normal mode ahead of me. japanese battletoads 2p warpfull: i'm doing this in hopes that it can be faster than the 1p run. it is a slightly different game so i know it can't be compared for competition, but if it can be the quickest battletoads movie, then i have to try it. even if it isn't, at least it will be a short 2 players movie without any annoying game over screen. edit: forgot to say that i'm at level 8 now.

thanks nitsuja, those fixed it. and i just bought a second analog gamepad. so now i have 2. when i finish the other 2 tases i'm working on, i'll be ready for action :) i just noticed while testing the controllers that they can jump on top of each other, so that could certainly be used somewhere.

yea i'm sure 120 star would be my prefered TAS ever and it'd stay like that for a long time, maybe forever hehe. anyway i tried downloading here at work, and... it worked. i'll watch when i get home though. but i have already watched the last WIP and i know it's awesome. edit: oh maza, nice idea i didn't even think of that, yea it would have worked! i can't wait to vote on this hehe. (but maybe it's already being encoded lol)

It does differ between CD ISO dumps, but I'm certain that the error correction that's dumped along with the ISO files will correct any such differences. And if everybody uses one certain BIOS file, then there should be no problem.
i'm pretty sure it differs form playstation to playstation and from cd to cd since its a physical component and is subject to variations. its not just circuits. its a cd spinning there. the lens get tired and the cd has dust on it so i think its pretty difficult to have ideal conditions to have frame precision.
