Hold down the jump button when you jump on the bee and keep holding it down. Enable "Show Input" (Options > Misc...) to see how tricks are done. On the Special Stage, you bump into the ball and lose time. It's easy to avoid it, but even better, you could try using them to get boosts forward.

Usually when making a movie, we have Raw data UNchecked since it can cause desyncs. So why play this with Raw data checked?

It seems like there maybe a random possiblility of the owl doing something different which, in theory, makes a demo of this not possible to be the same?
There is nothing random in games... or at least, that's what the FAQ says.

kooz, maybe you want/need to see where he's going because you're not so familiar with this game?

Thanks for the advice, Xkeeper. I had never heard of a minor edit option before since I'm not such an experienced computer user.

Yeah, I use UE version, so that's the reason for the desync. Upthorn, in Hard mode the difference is only the time limit, so it doesn't matter, because my goal was to beat the Sega records. About the strategy on 1-1, I thought grabbing up-right was faster too before, but if I grab up-right I can't grab the pole instantly. That loses about about 10 frames. And no, my 2-1 time is not a typo, watch the movie :)

It was pretty long time ago I made this topic but I improved this now, so if anyone wants to see http://www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=2328335 the times: 1-1 > 3.46 1-2 > 6.10 2-1 > 3.16 2-2 > 3.94 3-1 > 9.24 3-2 > 6.85 4-1 > 4.75 4-2 > 17.79 5-1 > 7.09 5-2 > 12.98 6-1 > 9.97 6-2 > 15.46

It doesn't work. I have the right rom and raw data turned off. When I load the movie, it doesn't say re-record count or what plugins you use or anything. Did you use the newest version of the emulator (v8)?

This game has quite many graphical errors like the sky, the forest on Surface, the ocean on Frigate, and the ground on Depot. The FAQ says: "This is really a vague rule, but because we aim to publish videos that actually look like the original video game system, movies of games that aren't emulated well (have graphical or functional glitches that don't exist on the real console) should not be submitted."

Why do you use v1.2? v1.0 has more glitches.

It probably doesn't matter since you'll still play in slow motion. Do you think movies will desync if it is checked and unchecked at certain places (like long cutscenes)?

Wouter, the rom probably has no difference in the speed unless it's a bad rom, and mupen64 reports if it is. Try changing the video plugin (options > settings). glN64 is set by default, but it doesn't seem to be so good for this game. Jabo's newest plugin works nice for me at least. I don't know how good your computer is but maybe you should try updating your graphics driver. For me, this game actually seems to run smoother than on console (usually)

If we can save at least two seconds per level on 00 Agent mode, and I think it's potentially possible (at least on average), I think that a TAS would end up being under half an hour in one single segment.
It should easily go sub 30. My Bunker 2 and Aztec alone save 26 seconds, and they're not perfect.

When I check "Copy Framebuffer to RDRAM" the game starts to run really slow.

i'm the one who did the silo dltk. i'm not so good, so i thought that people here would probably not be interrested, but here's the m64 file. http://www.savefile.com/files/1662426 i didn't aim for a good time, i was just interrested in completing the level decently fast on maximum settings. the zip also includes 3 other runs played regularly: bunker 1 - secret agent - 0:21 aztec - 00 agent - 1:37 bunker 2 - 00 agent - 0:52 bunker 1 sa pretty bad because i think it's easy to do 1 second faster, but i haven't bothered yet. bunker 2 is my latest, silo was my first. i'm not trying to submit anything on this site, i'm just entertaining myself or something..

the PAL WR on sunny beach, 1:16:885, is probably 'the most insane wr' on this game.

1. Do people play with keyboard or controller? 2. If I have a controller, is it possible to set hotkeys for it? 3. Why do I have to uncheck "Raw Data" in Input settings? 4. Can I cause desync if I change the speed (slow motion) many times?

Yeah, it works now that I toggled the Num Lock. Now it works whether I have it turned on or off. Thanks for the help.

I was just testing N-Rage's input plugin using mouse control, and suddenly I can no longer customize the hotkeys, they just clear themselves and I have no time to type anything. Does anybody know why it happens and what I could do about it? http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/9691/clear0yh.gif

Sorry, I'm not so good at these things, but why does the movie stop playing when I load the save state?

For long games like this, wouldn't it be good if several people could work on it? One could do Deku tree and play to Dodongo's cave, then someone else would continue from there and play to Jabu-jabu etc.

with SDA timing it is 15:30 the real non-TAS wr is about 18 minutes but it is not on SDA. he who did it said, after he watched the toolassisted testrun, that he don't want to try lower anymore (sub 18), he would feel stupid because he would do mistakes and couldn't do it as good as the TAS..
