Never mind what I said about Perfect Dark. The Japanese and European versions didn't work for me after all, they just took a little longer to freeze (about 1 minute into the game). I tested to do a movie recording of Goldeneye (recorded from save state) and that seemed to work really good though. I played for about 4 minutes and 15 rerecords and I didn't get any desync. With the old mupen-rr, I often got a desync in Goldeneye in less than 1 minute.

OMG, Blast Corps works! Pretty interesting game to TAS, I remember JXQ said years ago that he would be interested to TAS it.

Among the games i tested, most seem work just fine. However, I am getting problems when trying to start others. Some examples: Goldeneye 007 - Nothing happens, it's just a black screen forever Perfect Dark - The start screen pops up after a pretty long delay, then it stays there forever
Goldeneye works for me, but in Perfect Dark USA version I have the same problem as you. The European and Japanese versions work though.

Because of the apparent lack of an emulator to do so,
there is a ps2 emulator, which could be used to TAS vice city. some people have made TASes with it at least: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMD_oDHkeqU i don't know how they did them though, because i couldn't get the playback to sync well enough that it would be possible to make a TAS.

I got a question. What took so long to make a ps3 emulator other than lack of motivation? I mean, the Wii had dolphin for quite some time already, so why this took that long? Is it hard to emulate?
Because PS3 has much better graphics than Wii. I don't think they got a PS2 emulator working properly until about the time PS3 was released, so I wouldn't expect a working PS3 emulator until maybe 2014, and it will only run 5 FPS at the beginning.

some 3D games like mario 64 or goldeneye might be fun to play mirrored: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHf4OGRQ918 it would be almost like playing the game for the first time, because it looks so different. i've read that if you have two screens, you can make the other screen mirror what's on the first screen, but there should be a way to do it with one screen too.

Got it to work now. But this seems like the other ps2 rerecording emulators I've tried... it just desyncs all the time, so you can't really record a movie with it. I tried GTA3, that didn't seem to work at least, except a little in the beginning... maybe there is some setting you have to have for it to work, because there was at least someone who had made a GTA3 TAS.

Yeah, I already tried renaming them, but it didn't work :/ Maybe it refers to the first version because it has no v#.

Link to video A timelapse of one day. I made it with an android phone app on 21st June, which is the day with most sunlight of the year (summer solstice). Decided to upload it today on 'doomsday', which is the winter solstice.

lol, they already reached way over the required signatures, even though there's a month left. I wonder what consequences it will have. Although they cause some harm to people, they also provide some entertainment, so if something limits them further, I might miss them, like I miss trolls and other infamous people.

I hate when the IRC is like totally dead. ;_;
IRC was a chat program that was used in the 80s and 90s, but it died out when MSN messenger was invented in 2000, and then MSN died when Facebook was invented. I was considering buying Assassin's Greed 3, but I hadn't played the previous 10 Assassin's Creed games, so I bought a couple of them, and a few other games too, most of which are still unplayed. So it will take a couple of years for me to finish these games. Still haven't finished Half Life 2, lol.

There is a real church though, that is crazier than that parody site, called Westboro Baptist Church. By the way, I wonder if religions qualify as conspiracy theories? Some probably do, like the 6000 year old earth. Or are they just 'alternative explanations'? The moon hoax linked to in the first post is probably a parody too, about the people who believe the moon landings were hoaxed. There are people like David Icke though, who believe the moon is built by reptilian aliens, kinda like the Death Star or a Dyson Sphere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4uVdetjt_w

when I load different savestates, when I quit and come back to it, whenever I do something I mess everything up all the time lol, I'm not used to TASing and I never got much into it because I always mess everything up in no time
Yeah, I used to mess things up too the first times I tried TASing. It sounds like maybe you're loading wrong save states, or maybe it's a desync. I sometimes forget which save state was the most recent, when I come back to it. But what I do is that I play the movie to a point where I want to continue the TAS, and I make a save state there, and then I load that state, and I continue from there. I would recommend to do that in games that have desync issues, because it might not work otherwise, because there can be an unnoticable desync, so that you can't continue from the save state you made when you TASed before, so you have to make a new one.

The problem I get a lot when I tas is that I somehow always mess up the movie and realize way too late that it stopped recording a long time ago... yesterday I had a bit of stuff up to the first power cell and then I realized everything since the beginning of port of adia was not recording. Do I suck at TASing? yes.
You should look at the frame counter at the bottom of the emulator. If it shows frames, you know that it's recording. It shouldn't stop recording by itself, unless you press the hotkeys that stop the recording.

also how do you prevent desyncs? is there any way out of if it desyncs your work is all scrapped?
To prevent desyncs, you can TAS a few thousand frames, then stop the recording and play back the movie from the beginning to see if it syncs, then you can continue the TAS a little bit again, and later play it back again. If you get a desync, all you can basically do is redo from the part where the desync started, that's why I TAS bit by bit in games which have desync issues. By TASing, you can see by yourself how many frames you can TAS at a time before you risk getting a desync.

So what is the Mupen-status on this? Is it TASable, does anyone know?
It's much more TASable than Turok 3 at least, and I made a TAS of Turok 3. I remember testing this a few years ago, and there were less desyncs than in Turok 3.
It's a very sad thing that the PC port is not TASable because I would do it!
Why not TAS the N64 version? There is a Windows TAS emulator called Hourglass, but I'm not sure if you can TAS Turok 2 with it.

That hardly sounds like freedom to me, it sounds more along the lines of *gasp* socialized medicine. It's not going to fix our already-broken economy, it will only damage it further.
The economy doesn't matter, only people matter, so if socialized medicine can improve health, it's good.
If people think he can magically fix the unemployment rate to what it was before it want to hell, and reduce the national debt to manageable levels, he's sorely mistaken.
The more unemployment, the better, because then we have more free time to do what we want. What needs fixing is the economic system, so that people can have everything they need, even without necessarily having a job. National debt doesn't really matter either, because it's just something we invented, it's an imaginary problem. To fix the economy and all debts permanently, just shut down the banks and abolish money.

Good that Osama won, but both were so equal (50% vs 48%) that it would have been better to just flip a coin about the election, rather than have a complicated process with votes, and millions spent at advertisements that could have been better spent. A lot of money could have been used to help people if they had just flipped a coin...

235 years ago? I thought the 10 ammendments in the Constitution were like the 10 Commandments, that they were written by God himself 6000 years ago. See this video about democracy and elections: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTbLslkIR2k Money can be used to buy publicity, so it's more like a plutocracy than a democracy.
