i'm not really a pop1/2 fan, i found the game not so fun to play, but i must say i'm impressed :) i watched the whole thing. saw some nice glitches. so nice work :) in level 11 when you run over the top in the 3rd screen up, if you dont go all the way to the end, you'll save time (unless this means getting fall dmg + the dmg delay of course) in level 12 you go up, then you go down and up again... i couldnt see a reason for this

you have to defeat all the bosses twice anyhow... i found it nice how he fought the first boss in the robot suit btw :)

i remember that every boss had its weakness to a certain weapon however, so far (halfway) he seems to use the generic weapons on each boss, except one. seems he could save quite some time on the bosses also, is it allowed to rerecord per level? or must it be a continous run from start to finish? it takes about a minute or so untill he actually plays he's not very consistent with dashing and jumping... seems to me like he could win some considerable time there (although for a true single run... i guess thats not so easy to do) its nice, but can be improved oh yeah the death was understandable :p but he took the wrong route, as he took a slightly different route the second time.

well that wasnt the point really with p2p protocols like kazaa etc, this would've been get-able. but with a protocol like bittorrent, its not when it gets old.

i obviously meant the snes version as this is the snes forum i really dislike mario kart for the n64, or the gamecube. although the gamecube is better then the n64 version, the snes version > all.

would a speedrun be intresting? i know quite a few shortcuts (not just the obvious ones :p) but i can imagine that it can get boring since, aside from the shortcuts, its just going and going and going... best shortcuts are, flower cup level one (you can cut a huge chunk with a little practice, cut it too short and the game will not count your lap :)) and on i believe the ice level of the special cup, but thats been a while.

xvid is the best compression out there at the moment, but like pointed out, a version difference, or buggered installation can screw things up fast. the latest version with a proper installation (dont ask me what that means...) will fix all xvids.

well since i'm at some point planning on playing and finishing this game myself, i'm not gonna watch any runs just yet, since they will spoil it. but any speedruns of games this long are plausible imo

the only real glitch i can remember finding was the smb1 one where you would jump over bowser at the end of any level, and you would hit the switch and get hit by bowser at the same time. this you need to time very well, but the effect is funny. if you're big, the game will show you small, but you're in fact still big, with a flower if so, and you'll get a flower, not a mushroom, etc. dont really remember other glitches

you can just get rid of the pictures and make it plain text, the forum i mean. i dont think anyone will care much let the avatars be loaded from a different location (or are they already?) etc

wiki thing might not be a great idea looking at the type of audience the page attracts, unless you're there constantly keeping an eye on it, getting ready to press that revert button... and registered users only kinda defies the whole wiki idea, but might not be a bad idea if you can implement it (it means having a hack in phpbb that connects you to your wiki, which is not easy to do)
