It speaks volumes about the memorability of the season opener when the cane of all things is what people pick up on.

Freeware Tools which I find myself using regularily for various purposes: Audio Editing: - Audacity Image Editing: - IrfanView (Image Viewer) - GIMP - Inkscape - Paint.NET Video Editing: - AviSynth (Script-based video editing) - VirtualDub (Basic AVI editing, AVI screen capture) - MP4Muxer (MP4 Muxing and Demuxing) - MeGUI (Encoding) Media Players: - MPC-HC - VLC Media Player Other: - JDownloader - 7-Zip File Manager - HWMonitor - CPU-Z Of course, there are other useful tools, but these are just the ones which I use on a somewhat regular basis. I'll add to the list as I think of others. On that note, I'd also like to make mention of Google and Wolfram Alpha as easy "type something in and get a result" calculators for anything imaginable. These two don't exactly fit the definition of free software however. I'd also mention Notepad++, but it already has been mentioned before.

This was frickin awesome as befits the Castleroid series. I'm with FF on a Very Yes vote. I first tried watching this on 0.9.8 and it desynced hilariously. Two big skeletons in one of the cave levels spent a minute or so humping each other before killing Shanoa.
I had the same issue. Apparently, the game slows down without Shanoa. Some fiddling around with Savestates fixed it though.

This is one of the few TASes lately that made me drop everything to watch it as quickly as possible, and disappointed I was not. Great run through and through, and I'm glad that the Volaticus clipping found some application after all. Yes vote, naturally. Now all we need is an all quest run.

Sweet, gonna watch this asap. Will edit my post later. //Very great run, pretty smooth considering how limited the game often feels. Yes vote natch.

Surprisingly enough, this hack was accepted to SMWCentral. Place clearly has lower standards than they used to. //I also think you all are misinterpreting his wording about him creating the Romhack. So far as I can tell, the submitter on smwc and him are two different people. LIMO, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Would you care for the Smile Song in Japanese?
I would at least be curious enough to listen to it. Which made me curious about another thing: If you (plural) had to choose one song from the entire series that you like the most, which one would it be?
My personal favorite will always be the show's theme song. It just feels so genuine.

Alright, I watched the encode, and I must say it really strikes me of Rockman 4: MI with an invisible hell wheel. I think the gimmick makes for a bit of a hard viewing, similar to many DOS TASes set to maximum speed (incidentally, the DOS Mega Man comes to mind on that one), as so many screens just whiz by too fast for you to take in any of the level design. The end-level demos being sped up afterwards is a bonus after having seen it so many times, but it all makes it look a bit alike, like a regular video put on double speed. The TAS itself looked pretty solid technically however, so I'm voting Yes.

Why does that video feel so gay?
Because homosexuality is the ultimate form of masculinity.

Really enjoyed the TAS, it had some excellent tricks and looked fast and fluid. Nice utilization of frame rules as well. I would just like to point out here that green Birdo's damage cries are the creepiest goddamn thing I've heard in a video game. Yes vote.

Why are they wearing daipers?
It's Google's marketing, of course. Seeing how an estimated 97% of bronies also are diaper fetishists, they decided to kill two birds with one stone. Clever, really.

Interesting watch, I enjoyed the musical section at the beginning to pass the time, but that kind of is everything the run has going for it, as there literally is no gameplay to it. I guess it's a vault here.
