Hot Yoshi on Bowser Tongue action And I just think this was the best SNES run we've seen all year. The new tricks were all great, and it's evident that a huge amount of work went into this. Yes vote, and star it while you're at it.

Oh my god. I was not expecting a submission of this, let alone this soon. I'll watch it as soon as I can, and I'm all but sure I will be blown away.

Funny I just made a gif on that yesterday. Fluttershy picking her nose right? Episode 20 "Green Isn't Your Color" - 17:35 GIF
Your .gifs look pretty good, What method do you use? I usually open the episodes in VDub and use that to export .gifs, and edit them in GIMP. I wonder if there's a better way.

Link to video Since nitro seems to have lost interest in this, here's a TAS Test of the game, completing the first stage in 1:06. For those wondering, there is nothing wrong with the video, the game -really- is that choppy. I'd go as far as to call it an absolute mess, but that's what may just make it so great for a TAS.

I vectorized it earlier today for great lulz. Looking at it now, I'm beginning to notice more and more errors on it, though. Bah. Still, a halloween episode might just prove interesting.

Well, I was certainly damn impressed. I'm really glad to see some action for this game again. As I like to say, there can never be enough Super Metroid on this site.

I've never played very far into Super Mario RPG, but curiosity led me to watch the run to see what actually happens in the game. I need to be honest, I fast-forwarded through half of it, but I don't think that, due to its nature, anything can be done about that. There were some pretty entertaining moments, though I suppose you need to actually have played the game to truly appreciate them. As it stands, yes vote as an improvement to a published run.

Oh, this was laughably dumb. In this case, I find it kind of a shame the game's so fast, you can barely tell what's even going on, which its clean and well put together visuals (sarcasm, sarcasm) don't help with. I also enjoy the game's bold use of music and sound effects. Either way, it was quick and pretty entertaining, thus a yes vote. Also, I second Mothrayas' wish for MM3 PC.

this run could be a good base for a 100% run (and this underrated game seriously needs on) and if accepted, should be obseleted by one...
100% runs for Castlevania games can be really hit-or-miss as far as entertainment goes. For instance, this CotM submission was rejected, whereas this Symphony of the Night movie got rave reviews for the most part.
To be fair though, the CotM was aiming for the "ingame" 100%, which means entering all rooms. I never actually watched the run (because I'm not a fan of CotM), but that sounds like an... odd goal for a watcher to follow, and the comments and rejection text seem to reflect that. The SotN run was going for "all items" however. I haven't watched this yet either (encode would be nice anytime now ^^;) but I'm intrigued.
If I recall correctly, the rejection reason for the 100% CoTM run was that you don't get anything for 100% completion. It's just an insignificant, tiny stat that's displayed in the menu you won't even see during the run. With this run here, you at least get to see the full room before the final boss, which, in my opinion, makes the difference. Don't get me wrong, I found the CoTM run to be very entertaining as well.

Morning, Crimson, and welcome to tasvideos. There's a dedicated Castlevania topic in the NES forum, but I'll answer your questions here. 1.It has something to do with hitting the boss on the exact same frame he hits you. I do not quite understand the glitch myself, but by replicating the exact same scenario and trying out every frame, you should be able to do it. 2.It sends you back to the Menu? May be that FCEUX somehow snuck a reset into your movie, I've had that happen. You should be able to manually edit it out using Notepad++. 3.Since simon doesn't have any acceleration and moves at a constant 1px/frame, I don't think the game keeps track of subpixels, except for the stairs maybe. Since the stairs are so restricted anyway, I doubt it'd be of much use either way. Glad to see new blood tackling Castlevania, if you find a way to improve the published run, you're the man.

Well, that was quite a very enjoyable run. The levelling at the beginning was tedious, but after that, it was a ton of glitching, zipping and quick boss kills. I like how you completely compromised the layout of the castle and just made your own routes through zips, the ceiling one was new to me. Also, not being very familiar to TASing the game myself, how do you make Juste move this funky anyway? Definite yes vote.

Wow, great improvement over the previous run. I think my favorite moment was when you changed direction in tune with the background music. I find that sound to be very annoying, but here, you put it to great use. Yes vote.

I must say, while the runs are virtually identical, I find the faster version to be much more entertaining and more superplay-like. So here's my support for that and yet another yes vote.

So, I watched the encode, and, to put it simply, nothing exciting ever happened. All there were was a pony walking around and minigames. I'd give it a "Meh", but then I remember those are G3 ponies, not G4 ponies, so I fear I can't vote anything except for "No." Sorry bro

After watching the encode (thanks, fsvgm), I'd give it a "Yes". Admittedly not the finest game in existence, it does have a certain legendary status, akin to that of Kaizo Mario. As far as I can tell, it's technically well done and considering a Windows publication is long overdue, I think this may as well be the first one.

Well, this thoroughly excites me. Since I don't have the .iso around, I request a quick encode, please.

Also, indie PC game Aquaria has a wonderfully beautiful and atmospheric soundtrack. My favorite is the Mithalas Cathedral theme, a wonderful song in a game full of those. /Edit: Replaced the link with one that works.
