I had considered doing this because 2004 movies are easy targets, but turns out that won't be necessary anymore. Voting yes as an improvement to a published run.

While the movie is really well done technically, the run falls between various categories which do not leave it enough room to be published, the warped run and the small-only run, right there with warpless any%, small warpless any% runs and all those kinds of runs. While it is a lot of work, It'd be great if instead, you would tackle the 100% small only run, since it leaves a lot of room for improvement. Refraining from voting

For the BIOS file, google is your friend. As for ROM images, there are a few good sites that tend to provide good dumps, but I obviously can't link you to them. Still, what exactly do you mean by "right extensions"?

The movie looks pretty nice and is short enough not to get boring. The lag looks pretty iffy in some places, but I guess it's as optimized as you can get it. Yes vote.

Just a little idea I had been kicking around, This should be pretty self-explanatory. If we already have a gruefood delight, why don't we crown the best of it in a way? What do you guys think?

Wow, very nice WIP, I'm impressed. After that previous run of yours, I thought it was gonna be near unimprovable. But you continue to amaze me every time. The route change through the floating gardens was very unexcepted and unbelievably cool.

Well, I think that a "Push Button, I win Everything" situation really isn't that interesting. If anything, the changes this would make to the route would be interesting, but given it's probably a debug code, it won't be allowed anyway.

How about a new award: "The most impressive improvement of an existing TAS." (And "most impressive" doesn't necessarily mean "largest".)
I have to say I dislike this idea. Think about how hard this is to define and just how many possible nominees there are. With any given "X Run of the Y" and "Z Runner of the A", you only have a finite number of contestants. Here, we can get a ton of different nominations for one and the same run, frequently overlapping or being otherwise hard to define. A better idea, as previously stated, would be "Best Original Run", and perhaps a counterpart like "Most Stunning Improvement to an Existing Run", though the latter might just be a question of numbers.

My lord, calling this one one of the glitchiest TASes I've ever seen would not do it justice. This game wasn't just ran, it was RAPED, and you can see every bit of it as it goes on. Great run, high on the WTF moments in any case, obvious Yes vote.

Yo: A quick, -highly- unoptimized testrun to get me used to TASing with openMSX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_csim50uZA The run completes Stages 1 - 3 and the Vampire bat. I'm not quite sure of the best way to manipulate it, and wether jumping over it is better than taking a hit. Oh, well.

It may be a display issue with the emulator of some sorts, but I don't know wether you can do anything against it.

Whats up guys? For those who don't know my brother (Sunffit86) and I are planning a Super Metroid 100% Speed Run for SDA. I wanted to pop by and say thanks for all the effort you guys put in to your TAS's. Not only were they very entertaining but, they helped us plan our room strategies for our console runs. Thank you all for your hard work and hopefully when the run is finished you will be entertained as well. I also have a few questions as well. For instance the RBO TAS. Has anybody been working on Hero and Spoofer's masterpiece at all? I've been waiting with great anticipation for its completion. Also from what I saw on Kroile's You-Tube page, that he was dabbling with a 100% RBO. Is anyone planning on taking this up? Since I'm new to these forums I was also wondering how do I post .smv files? Cause my brother has a little teaser of his own that I wanted to post about what we plan on doing for out console runs.
Lo, and welcome to tasvideos, enjoy your stay, and good luck on that 100% run. I don't really know wether someone is working on an RBO run. Kriole is still around, so you could asking him about that personally. For posting any movie input files, you can use Microstorage. Hope I helped

I'll never be able to get a video up, guys. So here are just times for levels that I got. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Sky Station Green Star 1 - 3"21 (TAS) (TWR) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - The Perfect Run - 2'29"57 (TAS) (UWR) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Bowser's Fortified Fortress - 5'59"99 (TAS) (UWR)
I'm gonna ask it straight away to make it perfectly clear: Can you give us the input files?

...Dear lord is a list like this gonna be tough. I will list various games I can either play to this very day and still damn enjoy them or games that were really influential to me through my life, but it's not really going to be ordered in any way. - Games I can still damned play and enjoy them: - Unreal Tournament 2004 - Rayman (1, 2 and 3) - Super Mario World - Half Life (1, 2 and episodes) - Portal - Castlevanias (any of them, really) - Metroids (well, the 2D ones, I never played the Prime Trilogy, Other M or the DS games) - Tetris, obviously - MOTHER series - Call of Duty (1 and 2) - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas/Vice City - Cave Story - Games I hold a lot of nostalgic value for - Unreal Tournament 99 - Worms Armageddon/World Party - Rayman Designer (which was Rayman one with a level designer, how cool was that?) - Halo - Counter Strike - Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko - Croc - Grand Theft Auto: 2 - Wololo Age of Empires 2 - Empire Earth There are many games I've forgotten and many, many more I've missed in their entirety, but this list should cover everything on my mind. Special Mention must go to Team Fortress 2, which I sunk around 500+ hours into over the years, before Valve ruined it I got bored of it. Were I to write this list down one or two years ago, I probably would have called it my all-time favorite game. Oh, how opinions can change.

Now, finally having managed to watch the Run, I liked it pretty much. While there is a lot of downtime of little action, this was worthwile enough to warrant a yes.

'Lo and welcome to TASvideos, enjoy your stay. Are you German by any chance? Anyway, it depends. DOS games can be TASed, using JPC-rr, but modern day, high quality PC games, not so much, I'm afraid. This thread, Simple Windows Games might catch your interest, however.

To elaborate, if you get hit do 0 damage while killing an enemy and leveling up at the same time, you can suspend the game (which only works If you've saved once), to restart in the room you were in with 0 HP. From there on, Door Transitions don't trigger, thus warping Soma into the Caothic realm. I'm sure klmz can explain this a tad better though.
