Hot diggity! I cannot believe the Cave of Wonders subboss is actually skippable. That was amazing.

Address sets should probably have a way to handle multiple revisions of one game. The no-effort solution would of course be to mark a game's name with the version if requried, but I don't like it.

So I didn't see the previous submission, nor am I very familiar with Battletoads TASes in general. Is it normal for the Toads to have such a laissez-faire attitude towards bounds? This was a highly fluid and entertaining run, with many cool glitches. Yes vote for sure, and props for obsoleting such an old movie.

Oh neat, Milon. I was briefly looking at this game a few months ago but couldn't find any obvious improvements to the old TAS. Props to you for improving the old movie. I'm excited to see more.

This game is great! I started a TAS right after i saw the speedrun, which uses a few good techniques. Here's my lua script, for BizHawk. I guess my run is halfway done, right after taking the iron ball. My route is the same of the speedrun.
Awesome to hear that! I'm excited to see the final result.

Thanks, jmosx36, for the encode! The game is somewhat repetetive, but the wall climbing glitch helped break it up enough to make interesting. The action also flowed smoothly throughout. Yes vote.

You're a bubble. Later you're still a bubble, but with powerups. A small Metroidvania by morphcat for NESdev compo 2019. More info and download here here. Link to video Any% Speedrun in 3:25 by Skunky48. There's also 100% speedruns which collect all ducks in the world. The speedrun utilizes some OOB glitches to get the Double Jump faster. I would like to see a TAS of the game, although I don't know if the developers are going to continue on the project. I certainly think it'd be entertaining. Opinions?

The warp glitch kinda reminds me of Magician Lord. Very nice improvement at any rate. Yes vote.

Exciting news from the CV3 Speedrunning Community: KutsuShita figured out that you can do vertical warps with Grant: Twitch Clip If you jump into a wall while attacking and let go of Right on the exact frame where you touch a wall, the game freaks out and zips Grant vertically to a different position on the screen: This only works in the U version of the game, and it only works on right walls. You may zip either upward, if you're low on the screen, or downward if you're up high on the screen. If you're in the wrong position, you may end up below the screen and die. In vertical rooms, this trick can be used to perform huge leaps, which can allow you to clear them quickly. If you do it more than once in a room, you can break the screen scrolling, which can potentially be used for more stair dismounts also. Here's a short demonstration of where it can be useful in a TAS: Link to video This trick opens up a huge amount of new possibilities for a new Grant TAS. It might be faster to use the U version now, even for a non-wrong warp TAS. There's also a possibility now that the lower swamp route is faster now, since many of the rooms in that route might now be skippable.

FoxBot Soundtrack An unexpectedly good soundtrack to an otherwise entirely unremarkable game. There I did it

I could watch Frisk do the Murder Dance all day Highly entertaining run overall. There was plenty of strategy and entertainment choices alleviating the grind. Yes vote, natch.

I've begun to develop a certain appreciation for "B themes" in video game music. These tracks aren't necessarily as great as Mega Man music, or as polished. Often, the games they come from aren't even particularily great. However, I still think they're memorable and contain something unqiue that makes them worth listening to. Usually it's just the atmosphere or some element of it I really like. So, without further ado, here's a couple that caught my fancy, in no particular order: MSX Mr. Ghost / Yurei Kun - Stage 1 PC An Untitled Story - Ice Castle PSX Kingsley's Adventure - Snuff's Cave SNES Mohawk and Headphone Jack - Coysehaiys Track 1 GBC Animoprhs - Space Station NES Whomp 'Em - Forest Test ZX Spectrum Cybernoid - Title TG16 Bloody Wolf - Stage 2 Genesis Super Hydlide - Out of Freedom And, for a double special: Dragon Warrior 3: Cave [NES|SNES] (Hyadain)

Due to imperfect manufacturing technologies of the time and poor separation between the analog and digital parts of the chip, the 6581's output (before the amplifier stage) was always slightly biased from the zero level. Each time the volume register was altered, an audible click was produced. By quickly adjusting the amplifier's gain through the main 4-bit volume register, this bias could be modulated as PCM, resulting in a "virtual" fourth channel allowing 4-bit digital sample playback.
I was aware many PSG chips could be coerced into playing PCM. This is the first time I've heard it integrated into actual music.

Link to video I remember seeing this on the Newgrounds front page in 2009. This is a version with higher quality audio.

This game had surprisingly smooth motion and fluid gameplay for a cinematic platformer. Running through so many enemies also was certainly unexpected. I remember seeing parts of this game, but I never saw the end of it. It somehow gets even more terrifying than what I remember. Yes vote.

Insane!! (yes vote) Also huge props for making the commentary subtitles. They were very enlightening to some of the things that weren't obvious.

Oh dude, oh dude, oh dude. Yeah, this was a great improvement. Super smooth gameplay, and the corner jumps were a nice surprise. This really screams for a room for room comparison encode. Yes vote for sure

Link to video It's illegal to make a bassline this funky. (I could really list the entire Soundtrack of Persona 3 to Persona 5 for great tunes, but that would be a bit too much for one post.)

Holy crap, this is amazing. Probably the most innovative thing I've seen related to TASing in a long while. Huge props to you for making this. I do wonder how well this works with some of the actions required in the base game, like shooting, boosting from func_pushables or riding trains. Great work at any rate.
