The latest WIP posted desyncs right before Max can leave the first town. Anyone else having this problem? And yes, I made sure all the previous data was deleted.

I also thought there was another boss. Anyways, I'm voting yes, but mainly because I played the english versions of FFV, so I knew what was going on for the most part.

Very nice find. I don't know a lot about this game, but I did have a lot of fun playing it. With this new find, it should be relatively quick and easy to make a TAS of this, right? I look forward to it.

I love movies for games like these, where you think it's done perfectly, but something else is always found to improve upon it ever more. Yes vote.

Yes reports... but was there live action? I guess not.
What, you want them to invite you over so you can watch said sexual activity for yourself? Anyways, now we're straying WAY off topic. Could we just get back to talking about the run, please? I'd rather not have board members separate because of political issues.

I don't want our children watching homosexual scenes. Maybe you are gay, it's your choice but don't contaminate others. :P
This quote is why we use the word 'homophobia'. Your post treats homosexuality like a disease, and there really is no other word I could think of better to describe it, even if there is a smiley face in there.
If you want it not to be a big deal, don't mention anything about it in the description, movie or the submission message whatsoever
That's an even better idea.

Yea, I know it was immature, but I couldn't help but chuckle at the bears. As for Phil's arguments, your homophobia shouldn't have anything to do with your opinion on the improvement. It's like mixing church and state. It's a big enough problem in real life, don't make it one on TASVideos. But I do see Bisqwit's argument. To me, TASVideos is one of the few sites that's entertaining without having to resort to constant sex references. And it has always maintained an image of 'innocence', if that's what you want to call it. I appreciate that, and I understand that if the sex thing wasn't emphasized, it wouldn't be as big a deal. But how can this be reversed? It can't now. Anyways, I think it should be accepted because: 1) It's an improvement. 2) It made quick work of a boring game. Upon it's acceptance, in the description and the picture, no straightforward mention of sex or screenshots of the 'incident' should be posted. There should just be a warning for offensive sexual content or something. Nothing like, "THERE'S GAY SEX IN THIS MOVIE!" And one more thing, I don't think 'children' visit the site. I'd say most under the age of 15-16 wouldn't even have the patience to figure out how to even run these videos (though they could just go to Youtube for the most part.) While not completely applicable, if you got the ages of all the board members and averaged them, I'd say you wouldn't be too far off on the average age of the frequent TASVideo visitor.

Sorry for not posting in a while, but I've been sick. I'm a bit better now and I looked at the video again the other day. I noticed a few other mistakes that I didn't notice before. And to Itstoearly, you are able to walk through walls normally anyway after you get enough power-ups to walk fast. All you have to do is walk up and down diagnolly repeatedly. EDIT: Ah nevermind. I offered to make this a joint effort with me, but I just don't have the patience. I'm always seeking absolute perfection, even if it isn't possible. While it's good to have this logic, with a game like this, it's enough to drive one insane. Good luck, though.

Same here. I thought this was going to end up being a lame movie with lame restrictions. But this movie really IS a whole different play through SMW. Yes vote.

I'll go back over the file tomorrow and let you know what frames I was referring to. I'll also look over that no shooting file you posted. I also think that there should be a 100% run as well. I might try it again, but I can already predict that my short patience for TAS'ing will prevent me from getting far past the first stage, if that.

Ok I'm currently watching it right now and up until a bit after Corridor 1, things seems great. But here are the things I've noticed: In the area where you receive the upgrade for the first rapid fire, on your way back up, you avoid a butterfly monster to avoid damage. You should've just taken the hit because it's slightly slower to move diagnolly than in a straight direction. I know you're trying to avoid getting hit, but in instances like these where it saves time, just take the hit and move on. Also, in the miniboss fight with the crab monster right above that rapid fire power-up I just mentioned, after you killed him and received the item he dropped, you didn't move straight back for the exit, instead, doing some weird loop. Why? Also, another instance of taking damage when you should've occurred in the room above the room with the giant W in the main area. You killed two monsters with your bat to avoid damage. Again, you should just take the hit. In Area 2, coordinates x5 and y15, fighting against the blue crab boss, it kinda looks like you didn't begin firing at him as soon as possible. Of course I could be wrong, but from playing the game for so many years, it seems like you could've started damaging him a few frames earlier. Is this just how it looks, or did you actually start damaging him as soon as he's available for taking damage? In x2 y17 of area 2, you shoot a spider. Again, take the hit. In x2 y15 (I believe), you did the same with another butterfly monster. The blue miniboss fought in x1 y14 was fought beautifully! In x2 y14, take the hit. The blue lander upgrade you picked up right after that probably could've been picked up faster had you taken the hit...again. In x3 y16, take the hit. Corridor 2 was awesome, and I love how you killed him JUST as you went down to 0 health! Now THAT is entertainment. Corridor 3 was also great. But would it be faster to also die after leaving there. From the top of my head, I know the room with the blue lander in which you spawn in isn't too far away to walk to, but it might be slightly faster to die after the third boss than walk all the way back. This should be tested. Anyways, so far, I think you're doing great, but I think in all instances in which you would save time by taking damage, go for it. Now, I listed a lot of instances in which you should take damage. I don't know how much health you'd have left after all that, but if by some chance you have none and THEN you come across a room where you have to kill an enemy so as to not die, THEN don't take damage. I'm really not trying to be picky about that because I know you're adamant on taking little damage, but I'm fairly certain the finished product would be rejected otherwise. Keep up the great work. :)

I don't think taking as less damage as possible should be worried about. I mean, under normal circumstances, sure, but when you're trying to save time (like walking through a room without touching a spawning enemy), then I say scrap the idea. Oh, and for killing yourself to warp back, perhaps before you kill the boss in Corridor 2, you should take as much damage as possible without dying. When you finish the corridor, picking up the item gives 3 energy, but you have no choice but to pick it up. Because of tactics like these, you should probably not worry about not taking damage.

I agree that you shouldn't worry about getting points by inadvertently killing enemies and the like. One thing I always worried about was by the end of the game, there are TONS of enemies on-screen. For the sake of entertainment, it'd be very hard to decide which to kill and which to let go. I remember in my run, I ran into enemies I couldn't possibly shoot in time which I thought would be entertaining, but since you're trying to avoid damage (except for times like bosses, for example) this could be a problem.

Time for me to play Mr. Picky, because I played this game like crazy when I was a kid, and I attempted TAS'ing it but gave up. The first thing I noticed is that the very first boss was really unoptimized. I wish I could show you the small TAS I made of this game but I apparently deleted it, but I know for sure that the boss was killed much faster than that. It was roughly the same time as in Acmlm's WIP. And this was all without bothering with Frame Advance. Another minor thing is that you sometimes just stand still during times of waiting. Perhaps you could move or shoot rhythmically along with the music while you wait. Also, 51 for an undo count is kinda low. When I was attempting this game, I had well over 100 for JUST the first stage. I must say, though, that Corridor 3 was played very well, though the boss could probably be more optimized. I'm not trying to discourage you at all. In fact, I praise anyone for even attempting this game because there's so much randomness to it; knowing how much to shoot, deciding which weapon is best for which boss, and manipulating in general is very hard to do for this game.

Same here. Unfortunately, since I have no choice but to use dial-up, going to Youtube would be fruitless, so I can't vote.

I've watched the 120 Stars WIP video too much, and I guess that spoiled this one for me. This one was just boring, and too similar to the other movie. I turned it off halfway through the ghost level.
This pretty much sums up my opinion verbatim. I felt like I was just watching the other videos, only skipping over a few choice stars. I also stopped at the Ghost level because it all just felt the same. No vote. But if it is accepted, I see no choice but it going to Concept/Demos section.

It really is. I remember watching again the other night and thinking that the shock value was not lost on me at all. Even though I had seen it before, my mouth still dropped at some of the craziness. But that only proves that such a movie is just way too demanding and complicated. I'd like to think, however, that there is solace in the fact that if Spezzafer ever decides to work on it again, at least the first 3 worlds are done. :)

I see. Guess I asked just a little bit too late. But I went to your other topic and the Warbot seems like an interesting idea. Either way it doesn't matter; I am not savvy on TAS'ing and no others seem interested in running it (probably because they'd want the Warbot first, and understandably so), so it doesn't look like TO will be worked on for quite a long time. How disappointing. :/

Just like Virtual Bart, this game has very little to do with the Simpsons. It's just a game with the Simpsons characters slapped in there. Regardless, I found the run to be oddly entertaining. But I also think that if this gets accepted, VB should have as well. Anyways, voting yes.

I apologize for bringing up such an old topic, but I was looking through all my TAS movies, and I got back around to this one. It must be because I'm a pretty hard TO fan, but even though it was only two battles, I could really tell this run would be entertaining. I know I've offered a little help before, but now I'm off for the summer and though I probably couldn't help with the run itself, I could probably help with any info you need or if you get stuck somewhere. So I was just wondering, are you still working on this? Or have plans to?

I've always been a big fan of JXQ's work, and this makes me like him even more. :) This must've taken TONS of work, so I applaud you. If this movie gets obsoleted, I'll be very sad.

You'll have to forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but I wasn't able to read all of the above. I realize that you said your TAS was still unoptimized but I also noticed that when you bought items, you increased the amount in increments of 1. If you want to buy 15, you can push up 5 times in the 1's place, then move to the 10's place and press up once. Just a little something I noticed. Again, sorry if this has already been mentioned. I'm glad someone finally started working on it again. Being a huge fan, I'll enjoy it thoroughly.

As I've stated in other numerous topics, I love Double Dragon, and this one is my absolute favorite. This is a good improvement, and I cannot wait until a 2 player run is made.
