Well I never played much of this game (only the first world), but this run is looking great so far. Keep up the good work.

Works for me also. That first fight was extremely impressive. Perhaps you'll be able to do more combos from the arcarde than I thought. I hope so. :)

Definitely a yes vote. Some of those glitches were just straight up funny (and weird.) Might I suggest, for the screenshot, that you put up the "Double Friendship" scene?

If I'm not mistaken, it's probably impossible to do some of those combos seen in the arcade. This is simply because of all the system changes. For example, sprites are smaller on the SNES. I've actually tried pulling off some of those combos on the SNES, and it just won't work. I think the physics in that version may be slightly altered.

I have an extensive combo/glitch video of this at home which might be of interest. It has some 100% combos and lots of glitched fatalities. I'm not sure which version it is made for -- PC? The name escapes me, but I will check it up for you.
Are you referring to the videos at darktemplarz? They had some really great videos, but they've been down for a while now. I KNEW I should've downloaded all those videos when I had the chance. :/ At least some of them can be found on YouTube.

A UMK3 speedrun would be WORLDS better than the other ones! The only thing that concerns me is the cheapness of the AI. Seriously, when they were making this game, they got lazy in that department (and it's even WORSE with Trilogy!) As a result, nearly everytime you go to combo them, they will automatically throw you, even though you are mid-frame of doing the combo! Midway decided to go the lazy way and make the AI dead at certain moments. It is these moments you must take advantage of when doing your run. After seeing your KI run, I know you can make this one awesome as well. But I'm kinda hesitant about hyper fighting. I mean, I know fighting on Master II will make the game longer, but how much exactly does the game speed up? If it's too fast to see what's going on, then I wouldn't suggest it. But if it's like KI, then definitely go for it. :)

I'm pretty sure it's "Fight On". It makes the most sense.

I was definitely entertained by this run. Easily one of my favorites.

I think I should emphasize that I was entertained by this run. I don't want you to get the idea that I wasn't. I just think that that it should get accepted, but only as a concept demo.

I think you should do stage fatalities when applicable, since you can do regular 'fatalities'/humiliations on any other stage.

I heard a while back that he really wanted to make more on the series, though the person I heard it from never gave a source.

I'd vote yes for a concept demo (assuming it was redone on Very Hard), but not as an actual TAS movie.

Nice movie. But I think it's safe to say this game has the worst ending ever. It's so horrible, I actually laughed at it. I was never able to beat it when I was 5 so it's so funny to see it beaten so easily...or should I say precisely? Yea, that one.

I can't get it to work for some reason, with either ROM. When I go to load both ROMs, I get a message saying their both the wrong ROM. I'm using FCEU 0.98.15 recording. What's the problem? Thanks.

I only suggested Berserkers since whips are so rare. Whether or not damage output on average is less because of this is something I don't know, but Beast Masters are really great for levelling VIT.

Hmm, in that case, I think it might be best not for me to help until I completely understand how the RNG works. I've never really gone this far into the mechanics of a game before (though I've read about it in many threads), and I think it best that I'm not involved yet with playing the TAS. I WILL however help with everything else. Ok so I've been trying to plan out what would work best. As far as routes go, I'm not completely certain. I DO think, however, that you shouldn't go the Lawful route. Why? Because that would make Denim Lawful, and the only good class with L ali. is Sword Master, and I don't think it'll be worth it. Although he can attack twice, he'll also take a lot of damage. Now you can obviously luck manipulate this, but I think the amount of manipulation total considering all the hits he'll take, you won't be done for years! For males, I think the best basic classes are Berserkers (for N/C ali.) and possibly a Beast Master and either Ninja or Beast Master for L units. However, whips are really rare. Thing is, you won't get your first whip until Chapter 2, so you might end up with several Ninjas. Knights might be a decent choice very early on, but I think Ninjas are better since they can attack twice and have low weight. Just be sure to watch their health. As far as Wizards go, I don't think you should consider them; period. Spells can take a huge amount of frames, especially when the Wizard levels up and the spells hit a larger area. Not only will you save TONS of frames because of that, but also because you save frames NOT SHOPPING for spells. For Male Advanced classes, Terror Knights seem to be the best way for C ali., Sword Master for L, and possibly Dragoons for N. I probably wouldn't recommend Dragoons in the first place, but as far as N's go, that's the only good class available to them. Gunner will probably not be considered. Of course, you could only use members of a certain ali. so that you can have everyone be the same class for one alignment, but then comes in the conflict of "variety and enetertainment". You should decide what's best here. For females, I think Archers are pretty much the only way to go. Valkyrie is a decent class, but as the Archer levels up, I'm sure they'll do tons more damage than Valkyries. Also, I think Archer is a good class because since they can attack from a distance, as long as the enemy stays in distance, the Archer won't have to move, therefore lessening their WT. That might be something to consider. As far as miscellaneous classes go, I think Lizard Men are solid fighters who can deal and take a good amount of damage, and Hawk Men for their ability to fly and work well with nearly any type of weapon. That is, of course, if you decide to recruit any. It would be quicker to buy them at shops, but depending on how you play, it may just be a waste of time. I hope this helps!

I understand what you mean. I imagine it would be very difficult to manipulate EVERYTHING right with one move. How exactly does the RNG work in this game? Is it solely restricted to where you move? How about how long you wait until choosing to move? Oh and what about those messages you turned off? Do you think they could affect the RNG? I just thought I'd bring up some ideas that may be useful. I would DEFINITELY help you with this run if I knew all about the RNG and if we had a definite, planned out route.

I thought it was a good fight except for one thing: the fact that you blocked two of his hits. In my honest opinion, it is more impressive in a TAS'ed fighting game that you come out of every fight with a flawless win. Of course, that's just one man's opinion. I liked that Ultra too. :)

I agree with Boco that Fire isn't the best element. I remember that overall, the terrain in this game isn't very friendly to Fire elements. I think Thunder may be the best way, but I don't think Water has it too bad either. Ah, it's been too long for me to say with certainty. Also, in the second fight, I understand why you hit Lans, but isn't that kind of a waste of frames seeing as how it caused Kachua to heal you? And I know that if she didn't heal you, she would have healed the other white knight (can't remember his name at the moment), but can't you luck manipulate it so that he doesn't take as much (or any) damage? *doesn't understand luck manipulation in this game :/*

I must admit that I also thought this run would be boring, especially after looking at those combo videos using the same moves over and over. But that WIP is pretty impressive. Great job, and I look forward to it's progress.

Simply amazing! You seriously raped this game. I'd vote yes if I could, but I'm still new and don't know everything about these boards. I don't see anywhere I can vote, and the FAQ said something about if you can't see it, then you might not have the privilege yet. Either way, you have a thumbs up from me, good sir.

A good run so far. I really like how you synch your input with the music and sound. It's a little fun thing to watch in between stages. More runs need to do that!
