A little update for my boys working in this tas team: Between shots theres 7 frames, so input display shows: A, (blank 7 frames), A There is probably a ram watch somewhere but I can't find it lol.. Second frame count I did was for Charge Beam: which is 62 Frames of holding A between you can release. Thirdly, Here are the cheat tables I created. it has X,Y,Z position, Health and Metroid in Ball-Bomb charges. Really basic so far but hopefully we can get more detailed.. http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=03718861238390783956

I've had this issue where Dolphin's VI count stays while the framecount goes up. I had this happen in my old Thousand-Year Door TAS. What I did to fix the problem was to waste a frame beforehand. I really hope that works for you!
I've tried pressing skip at the beginning of the cutscene and after the cutscene. ill try to do some other ways like waiting longer before climbing up the hourglass but we'll see. edit: waiting longer doesnt help, still cant process the iso/game past that cutscene. Link to video Here's the video up until that point! Lots of mistakes made earlier on, as I didnt have Asco to help me out in the beginning! Huge Thanks to him for reviewing every 30 seconds of work I did each time :)

I think any change made would affect Every enemies positions, and my own positions. Ill just write this off as a learning experience and if i come back to it, ill use the latet and theres a lot of early fixes i would change.
So you give up?
I dont wanna give up. But it seems as i would have to start over anyways fixing little spots here and there.

1. Does this happen in the latest revision? 2. How hex-friendly is this game? I know loading times between places would be different, but if there's not too much randomness, maybe you could try splicing the input to a revision that doesn't have this glitch.
It's most likely fixed along with other issues in the latest revision. Loading Times are different between the two versions so sadly splicing just leaves me at the very beginning again. Anyways haha.. if someone is willing to look into this issue. Im using Dolphin 4.0.2-avsync. I may have a video up tomorrow but for now I'll just explain whats happening.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAuSAVjyMek&t=1h22m8s This is the part I am at(The cutscene).. so I'm so close to finishing but there's one problem. Dolphin seems to just give up after the cutscene, FPS goes to 0 and I waited 60k frames to see if anything changes.. still nothing.. I have no idea what to do.. Dolphin version is too long ago to use a newer revision (Im using 4.0.2-avsync).. So ya....

I dont believe this has worked since 3.5. It may work soon, rachelbs newest commit adds on screen framecounter, so that may be an easier way to get the bytesofarray or whatever its called

My bad for pointing out that his justification for what appears to be sloppy play makes no sense and contradicts his previous stated reasons for doing it, even after you showed that the start and end were very sloppy. What should I do to ensure that this travesty never happens again?
You're clearly exaggerating about the travesty! I would roughly put it, but tasvideos isn't a place where people do everything without any help! My disadvantage, for example, is input entering, but there is someone who corrects me and I do it better each time.
Your disadvantage seems to be you are not using your full potential and resources available I believe. I looked through the thread (looks like about 18 days between starting the TAS and submitting it / About 7k rerecords). For the most part, it still seems like you're rushing through the TASing process. As spikestuff stated, start and end inputs are just mashing. you need to go back and make sure your first input is the earliest possible (Example: Frame 9 input works, lets try Frame 8 or 7.. 7 works.. okay now Frame 5, nope that doesnt work, 6? nope.. alright then Frame 7 is the earliest frame, onto the next input needed). You already took 4 minutes off your first TAS, which makes me think you can potentially take even more time off! Keep it up Dimon, I can't wait to see you at your full potential.

I should really get input display working with nunchuck, shouldn't be too hard... edit: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/1189
Does this have avsync working?
no, this is a pull request into the master dolphin build, which doesnt have the avsync that Fog was updating. it seems that Fog is currently updating the AVsync to work with current builds tho as of Sept 28. https://github.com/RisingFog/dolphin/commit/495cae6001e4bf4468e14ba53a829aa8c5963a36

The TAS is now at a point where encoding it is too big for my ssd(unless i sit around and watch it and delete or move the first six files to my external) :P At about 180,000 frames - working on the hardest glitch spot right now
Why encoding everytime from start XD ? Just encode part from where you stopped, like I do in my Mario TAS
I used to always crash when i tried to record from the middle. Ill try again when im home, but sure thats a new-age fix in your revised version haha..

I could see there being people out there that would pay to have a certain TAS completed(there is always people willing to spend a few bucks).. However I feel as though someone would never achieve enough money to make it a full time job(as you and the consumers would have no real reliable way of knowing how long the TAS would take or how many times over you would have to start or worse off if you had to start rushing to reach a deadline. I feel like it could be taken advantage of by a lot of people trying to get funding just to be lazy(similar to the indie devs on kickstarter that just used rpg creator).

That was really entertaining! Ive never played this before but it would be an interesting playaround video of all the mini-games, no idea on the rules for TASvideos on that..

I've found a "death" that actually saves time! Uploading at the moment. It also has some entertainment value I think. ;) Link to video Here it is. Saves at least 20 seconds, and should give you the body back! :)
Killing Farah, now THAT'S entertainment! :P Thanks Asco :D
