I agree... I was referring to 2, but 6 was my second pick. But I think 2 is slightly better, since the focus of the photo was only on the cat, meaning we could crop away the background and replace it with something cooler...
Bob A, you interested? So far I've only got 3 names on my list... response doesn't seem too good...

I listened to both 'Allt fyrir mig' and 'Eg sef i bilnum'... it's nice country music :)
Here's a nice soothing song in Chinese... Literally translated the title of the song is 'The Words of the Flowers'. The lyrics talk about the feelings of a guy when he has to leave his home... hope you all like it

I dont quite get what you mean... but yea, it would be nice if you have either a split screen or 2 runs super-imposed on each other option. Even better if both can be included. That would make run comparisons hell of a lot easier :)

Bump... actually I think this would be neat... not just for Gens but all emulators.
If they could just open 2 movie files at the same time, and toggle the secondary run as opacity 50%, then we can easily compare 2 runs! It is useful for both the viewer and the runner... why not?!?

Hmmm, any specific reason for choosing the European version of the game instead of the US/Jap version? The existing non-100% run used the Jap version... GBA Megaman Zero 4 (JPN) in 41:27 by Frédéric G. (aka. Xaphan).
Will take a glimpse of it now anyway...
EDIT: Right at the start of the movie, you should have set start to autofire to skip the intro, there is no point showing it. The first boss doesn't seem like it was hit on the first possible frame on some occasions, go watch the published one first, you should get much inspiration from it even if it isn't 100%... Btw, around frame 10500, you seem to have wasted an extra slash on machines.
You seem to be killing too many enemies, while it is needed for the 100% objective, have you ensured you have killed the bare minimum?
Your movie seems unoptimised i nthe first few stages... I don't think I can give it a YES. You seem new to the forum, good attempt at your first TAS but I don't think its up to the standards yet. Go refer to the Rockman Zero 4 thread for more information... you can ask for help from there too.

I like the cat one... plenty of potential to create something with a LOL-factor out of it.
The first thing that came to mind was 'takes damage to save time' (think of that weird sparky animation when megaman gets hit) rofl
Was trying to recollect some of my GIMPing skills... and so I created this image
Anyone can guess what I made it out from? haha... hint: its the mascot of some r0x0rs OS.[/img]

Yea, that would be good... maybe we could vote on which source to start working from.
Alright then, run along now... just don't go blowing holes in the backyard
I intend to make a list, like order who goes first, and who goes after... this will sort out quite a bit of the confusion i hope.

Saw this one the HoTU forums, and thought that it would be cool if we did one here too :) The gist of the idea is that we take a picture, or start a clean image whichever you all like, and each take turns to add new funny stuff into the image and build it up into something fantastic! I am still undecided on whether to fix a theme or maybe use it to work towards some kind of official TAS wallpaper or something... any suggestions? Anyone wants in?

Yea, the game engine looks too solid to exploit it to the megaman/sonic extent. A two player run sounds good, but would it be better if each equips a different weapon... I would think that the lightsaber and flamechaser may be better for the damage on bosses.

Anyone has interest in remaking this run? For one, it's already 2 years old, and more importantly...
It sounds highly unoptimized by today's standards, and does no justice to one of the best, if not the best, platform shooters created in its time...

Ok, I must have been living under a rock or something to not follow up with this WIP... but anyway, at least I am starting now. Anyway, looked at it and I have to say the hyperspeed abuse is looking awesome at this point in time... and the way you access the stars is qiute different and more spectacular as compared to spezzafer's run. Love it, looking forward to the next WIP :P all the way AKA.
PS: Which FODA WIP were you talking about, I can't seem to find any WIP that he posted... I searched like 20 pages back.
EDIT: Found v141 of his WIP, will look into it now.
EDIT: Just finished watching FODA's run, amazing! The mobility of Mario in this game sure makes it spectacular to watch :)
AKA: am I watching the wrong version of FODA's WIP? From what I saw, he uses the cannon to boost him to the Island in the Sky, but you use hyperspeed... his appears to be done faster

OooH, Virtual ON! Loved playing that in arcades last time... hmmm, if there is emulation for that I wouldn't mind TASing the game. But isn't saturn emulation unstable or something?

I have a question on the multi track recording... if player 1 inputs were made first and the game emulated those frames based on a player 2 staying still, then wouldn't recording a player 2 input afterwards screw up the way it randomizes the game and also desyncs for player 1?

Well, skilled developers put in effort to making the tools for the runs, so they deserve the credit. I mean, how often do you see people going to great lengths trying to make a TAS? Aside from the few outstanding TASers who innovated many new methods and tools for speed running, most others are usually contents with frame advance and then claiming optimisation. I may be over-generalizing, but that's how I look at it.
But then again, many for these outstanding TASers are unselfish and it's probably only a matter of time before they release these tools to us for to add to our badass arsenal to break the game to bits. I don't know about you, but I feel that many more great TASes will be produced, as long as people are willing dedicated and devoted to perfection, whether or not they are skilled developers. After all, we always have a community of people on the forum or on IRC ready to help on every run.

I heard that some dude managed to play both players together at the same time on the arcade version... it definitely wasn't TASed, since it was videocammed with his hands in the display. ZOMG!

Well, to be exact, social communists believe that everything belongs to the state, hence the property isn't quite theirs to begin with. As such, they may not be too bothered if something in their possession is stolen, because after all, it is not theirs per se.
This is true, and this is where relativity in Justice lies. The setence meted out is based on the severity society places on various crimes. Hence, though as mentioned that countries generally regard theft as a crime, the punishment is often quite different.
The whole debate basically boils down to value judgement of the individual. Although it may be shaped by the environment they live in, by and large, the fact that morals belong to an individual makes them unique from person to person. Even something that apppears to be universally acceptable may not hold through for everyone, due to the existence of mavericks and others. For some who come to hate the society they are born into, they would go against the set of morals held by that society. And this cannot be changed: you just cannot deny an individual from forming his own views, even if they are wrong.

Truncated: I am hoping that I will never have to, cos hexediting sounds like a bitch lol.
No movie updates as of yet... but I was experimenting with ways to dispose of the bosses quick and I am confident of saving at least 10 seconds on the first and second bosses combined. Lol, discovered a weird glitch on the first boss which allows me to instand KO him... and for the second boss, found a way to manipulate a quicker and more efficient kill :) Not going to reveal too much, haha, have to wait a month more for my WIP!
I really hope this movie would turn up well when I really get down to it... its weird cos the WIPs (mine and Zer0's) recieve so little attention, yet the submission by Zer0 was accepted quite quickly. Not sure what this says, but perhaps this game is so colourful so it easily entertains viewers :P
Heck, exams starting in 2 days time, and will span over 3 weeks. argh! STRESS...

The 4 min Zelda:LttP run was as glitched as these... if your definition is adopted then it would probably have to be moved as well.
If you look at 'concept demo' literally, then it would mean that the run demonstrate some new ideas that are potentially useful in TASing, but not eligible to be considered a full run... probably a run that is just intended to screw up the game bad and make the game developers look stupid??? I would probably consider all runs which uses SRAM to be concept demos, since they are incomplete and equivalent to making a movie from a savestate... then again does this mean that we can submit movies from savestates as concept demos if they are really glitchy and hilarious?

Hmmm, the main difference being that the movie was ended earlier immediately after activating the skill and without jumping for the orb... that's all right? And I was hoping for some even crazier stunt to be pulled off :( but YES anyway
EDIT: although the input ends faster, it takes longer to reach the credits... is this still considered superior to the previous version??
