When I click a song it just downloads and being saved as a midi file on my computer
If you have a WAP-enabled phone, you can probably download the midi on the phone itself and add it to your ringtone library. ...at least, that's how I got the Bubble Man music from Mega Man 2 onto my Blackberry 7100t :)

http://minibosses.com/ Worth checking out if you like VG music. They cover old NES games like Mega Man and Castlevania. Download the MM2 track off their website to see what I mean :)

Highness, you should probably cancel this submission since you have already started on your next version.

FYI, Radix has just posted up a 2:11 any% run that makes use of three major sequence breaks: * skip dark suit * gravity boost and grapple beam before seekers * early screw attack hosted at archive.org or hosted at SDA Quite entertaining, definitely worth a watch.

Just about to turn 25. I am also surprised at the number of youngins around here who were born long after the introduction of the NES. I foolishly sold mine years ago, but I still have my SNES and I think my sister has the TurboGrafx-16.

First time through (with 100% items and just over 80% scans) took about 21 hours for me. Doing a second run through now that's just a tad bit quicker, trying to 100% scans, dont' know if I'll get all the items again. Following the forums over at m2k2 has been quite entertaining...can't wait to see a run up on SDA/archive.org by kip or one of those folks with all the tricks discovered.

If this movie gets published, it would/should not obsolete any existing runs already hosted here, for the same reasons that the NES Metroid 1-item run did not obsolete the standard any% run.

Brilliantly played. Some excellent tricks and techniques used (especially turning the gravity suit on and off in maridia in order to get around in some of the larger rooms) I didn't think it was even possible to beat the game with that few of missles and super missles but this submission certainly proves that wrong :)

I voted no for a few reasons: * the currently published timeattack uses two players instead of one * the almost exclusive use of the flying knee is not very interesting compared to the variety of attacks and moves that *could* be used * a lot of things were sloppy, such as jumping up into spikes in the water base level and taking damage/hits from enemies for no apparent reason Even though this movie is faster by about 2 minutes, it is less entertaining, and therefore should not be published IMHO

Looks good so far. I especially like the stomping of koops and then shooting fireballs backwards to nail them a second time. The assorted ducking jumps and the wall glitch in 4-4 are also very well done. Looking forward to the finished run

Highness, are you going to do another run based on the suggestions that were posted here?

This submission is longer than the previous one...I assume this is because the intro wasn't cut out like it was in the previous one (thus adding a few minutes)? Edit: Answered my own question after watching the first few minutes of the video :)

Viper, what you've done so far has been very solid and impressive. Looking forward to the finished product. Keep up the good work!

12% most of the time (slower for the trickier parts) One thing to keep in mind (and I have yet to decide what I want to do here) is that the laser always goes through enemies if it kills them, so it makes it look like single shots are missed. Also, as others have pointed out, getting options means its nearly impossible to land every single shot. I try to use the option to help land shots as much as possible (e.g. lining it up to double up the firepower) Thanks for the feedback so far guys, keep it coming

I like JEdit as a text editor/IDE. It's based on java so it can run on any platform (I use it on both Linux and WinXP). Also, if you're doing development on Windows, Cygwin comes in very handy for a lot of unix tools like tail, find, cut, sed, etc etc etc

Unfortunately, you have to wait for the eye to open completely in order to be able to deal damage. You'll notice that I wait until the eye is open and "bulging out" before I can strike the blow, otherwise I run into him and die. I'll probably redo that last section of the fight and see if I can strike at the precise frame where he becomes vulnerable, as I'm probably slow by a few frames (this is where the step frame function in fceu will come in handy methinks). Since most of the game is a fixed-rate scroller, did you see any issues with it stylistically? I don't think I'll be able to achieve Morimoto-style playaround in this game, but I at least try and keep it interesting.

Also note that this is a run against the Japanese version (Salamander) rather than the US version (Life Force)

I started working on a run for this over the weekend. You can check out the FCEU movie file for the first level here Thanks for the tip on the forcefield on bosses, it saves quite a few frames :) Note: This is a one player attack rather than two player, as this is my first attempt at doing a time attack altogether.
