Voted yes. I liked the way code was entered in fireplace. Gameplay part looked like if it was not bunch of prerendered scenes, but actual 3d, just on low fps. Not sure if shortest way possible was taken to set all switches as needed, but I am not checking that.

would not optimal setting vary for different videos? I mean... Why try to get hishes possible quality on sample movie if you can't be sure results will be as good with other movie?

Stage -1 was fun - Hey, there's princess there! Hey! Hey, where are we going, she's back there... Oh, there's another one! No, no, why go farther, let me go back!

It works perfectly fine on svn build of desume. I did not try it beyond sandbox though, I play it on real DS. Also, while fan is sure cool, solving all puzzles with it is not.

The gap seems "too" large in the real device. Does it really look like that in the real thing?
It's like this when you hold DS wide open (180 degrees) but it's designed to stop at ~150-160 degrees, so gap looks a bit smaller. Although screens do too.But IRL you tend to ignore it blaming everything on perspective etc.

No, two screens are treated separately, and sprites for objects not-on-screen might even be unloaded. Who'd waste memory on non-displayable area of uncertain height? :D

archive linked to in above post includes delphi/kylix source code and readme too, but the whole program might be seriously outdated.

not the first project of a kind iirc. http://www.bluetoaster.net/emu/tools.htm comes to mind. Tashex never made it to that site. Well, it's not like if anybody ever used it :D

I don't remember anything worth tasing in this game... Watching puzzle walkthrough would be somewhat boring, I guess.

Observer is 50m above ground then? because sound will take longer to get there than in case he was standing on the ground. EDT: It's already answered in problem, stupid me

if I remember correcttly, "M" weapon was the best one for boss fight, it must be powered up to the max and hit with whole width - you can destroy one of base's cores while it's still showing up from under the earth. EDT: I am still downloading the avi to check your way of doing boss fight.

oh. sad... I guess fighting some boss that is not THAT out of the way is not an option too... Death is around there, but the time it will take won't make it worth it...

Does not final guard give nice amount of exp? I don't remember... He dies fast by 1000 blades so you can grind on him a bit if mp allows that.

you can doublejump using stylus when both characters are on screen. You make secondary character jump with stylus, then change character and press jump while changing when last circle apperas if i remember correctly. I did it in realtime often, try to find exact frame to do it. Or having secondary character in background is not an option?

How does one get 1000 blades attack? Or what was its name? Because single such attack on final guard leaves him with exactly one hp - if you can manipulate sword drop after that - it might be worth it.

I'd propose capturing main action screen 2x/3x scaled leaving less needed information sceen at its 1x. That way we don't lose info AND have good view. Another possible solution I just made up (it might have been suggested already though) is: both screens are rendered as usual, and to the right of them there's 2x render of main action screen. Let me make a pictures of what I meant...

Oh, yay, new MMZ4 run :o And a very nice done one, too! Looks like it gathered best idea from old submissions of both entertainment and techniques... Things I liked: - fast climbing (although screen shakes a lot with this) - use of knuckle (so much more fun than buster) - that helicopter thingy crushing turret at the end os second level - mid-boss obliteration (especially ice dragon who just scrolled down the screen) - projectiles chasing Zero by the door and missing Sadly, second boss battle does not end while player is at the rightmost position, but it can't be done without projectile weapon. Also, I am not a big fan of "takes damage to save time" thingy but that's my personal problem I think. Taking no damage is so cool :3 (In this movie taking damage thingy is used really well though) Also, it was one of rare movie that I could really enjoy, understanding how everything works ^^ Definitely, yes.

If you haven't done so yet, check out individual level speedruns by MegaDestructor9. They are already almost TAS-like.
I kinda object. They are well-thought, yup, but TAS would'not look even close to that. Basically bacause he spends ~40% of time in menu striving for minimal ingame time while TAS version would avoid using that menu unless absolutely neccessary.

You could actually do that in Windows??
Yes I could. And it still works as I have dual boot. Can't make it work on Ubuntu - DS can see wifi network, but no internet.

All my said complaints go to Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid installed on my laptop.
