I'll need a speicifc example of exactly what you put in.

1. Known issue, I'll make an issue on the issue tracker for it. 2. What game is this?

#2 is not a game, but one of the required pieces of firmware for Intellivision emulation (scroll down to the bottom of the page).

Do you (or anyone) know if the intellivision outputs anything if it is turned on with no game inserted?

That may be due to Windows changing the Default Audio device.

sorry I just found a fix earlier today . If you go to sounds and then change the output method to OpenAL instead of Direct Sound it no longer crashes (ツ)

Still having trouble with mGBA randomly desyncing in BizHawk 2.2.1, which is strange to me since I think the core was waterboxed. At first this only appeared to be the case when hard/soft resets where done, which is a known issue, but this latest desync in Golden Sun appears to stem from something else. Investigating on my own for now, will find out as much details as I can then post again here for help.

No, mGBA is not waterboxed

oh ok makes sense then EDIT: my guess from experimentation is that markers are bugged in TAStudio for mGBA, will try and have details soon.

BizHawk Version: 2.2.1(x64) Using the current 'Stable' version of BizHawk, I never had any basic issues with the emulator when emulating most platforms. However even for basic emulation, Mupen seems to be failing me in terms of Savestates lately and I turned to BizHawk to begin new TASes. However my problem is that BizHawk fails to even open any .z64 file that would of normally opened up just fine on Mupen. Edit: I tried .n64 extension games as well as the .z64 extensions. The same results occurred. Here's how it happens and the steps I took. 1. Open BizHawk 2. Selected "Snowboard Kids (U)[!].z64 Results... 1. The emulator acts as if it's loading with the cursor 'loading' state only when hovering over the emulator. 2. Within 2-4 seconds of this, the emulator crashes with the standard crash 'Solution Check'. I've tried changing the plugins to different ones to hopefully 'fix' the problem. Nothing I do in this section changes anything. No error log is produced. However with the log opened, it says the following... HawkFile bound C:\Users\My Username\Desktop\N64 Roms\Snowboard Kids\Snowboard Kids(U) [!].z64 I'm unsure how, or why this is, and I'd like to TAS a few games I have in my own time, but this is the only roadblock I'm having difficulty surpassing. Also as a side crash, the emulator has an 'Unhandled Exception' when using the 'Exit' function. It comes out with the error prompt... "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." If I need to provide any additional information regarding these crashes, I'd be more than glad to do so.
meh

Hiya, am new but felt this was the best place to post about this. Got a new modern laptop and want to start Tasing Flimbo's Quest. While I am searching for a standalone .prg cart image, I played the game since childhood via the 4-in-1 cart release that includes Klax, Fiendish Freddy and International Soccer. There are tape images but these would be very pointless to use, as when I RTA speedrun the game, I have to use a cart image as we use real world timing, not to mention all that loading time on a TAS would be fugly. I directed Bizhawk to the correct C64 kernel and other files. For reasons unknown to me though when I load this ROM I am unable to select a game manually - the emulator selects a pre-highlighted other game [to select normally requires pressing fire]. Does anyone know what might be causing this or how I can rectify it?

Can confirm this behaviour with up to date developer version of BizHawk. Works fine on Vice and CCS64.

With TAStudio, there's one frame (#4) where you can press down on Joy2 to select the second game. But things don't seem to work further than that. Moving around in TAStudio (after adding the Down on frame 4) also breaks things further, need to reboot core every time for it to run expectedly. This might get more notice on the BizHawk part of the forums though, maybe in the bug reports or C64 thread.

C64 4 in 1 game cart doesn't work currently, unpaused Bizhawk auto-starts the first game, failing that you can use Joystick port 2 on frame 4 to select the second. I have no suggestion for this problem, but.....IIRC, using multi-game carts is frowned upon unless it's not possible to find the game you're wanting to TAS by itself.

While tapes and disks do lead to long loading times and inflated TAS times, it's understood and isn't likely to impact the judgement of any submission. See this run for an accepted example with a long loading time.

I'll look into this one. But it better not be another scanline interrupt issue...

Thanks for the etiquette point! ^^ J helpfully directed me to a clean single game cart copy of the file which also works fine, Aloysha I hope that doesn't mean I inadvertently caused you to labour emptily.

Progress is rarely bad. At worst case, it'll make another game work which might've failed due to the same thing!

I'm experimenting a bit with the new communication library (have you thought about bundling zmq?) The unit test says "Please run TestCommunication_All.lua with the supplied Python server for a more comprehensive test", but I'm not able to find the Python server in question. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I was playing Holy Diver just now, and I got softlocked after the fifth boss. Normally, after the boss dies, the end of level music begins playing and the floor opens up beneath the guy on the cross and you jump down after him. However, in my situation, the music never starts up; the floor doesn't open, and I'm left trapped in the room. I've retried the fight a few more times, but I always get the same result. I'm using v2.2.2(64x), playing the game with the QuickNes core.
