samurai goroh: Do you guys have strats for every boss? Not yet. I'm only doing the first world.. and I don't know the best way to handle the cannons (just raijin no jutsu?) or ArchaeoAvis. hidden path Already been pointed out (Omega, bottom of page 4 @ 15 posts per), but thanks. fight before entering the North Mountain Level 3, for Galura, more Goblin Punching. it looks more like a fast video than a LLG one It is. Omega: When are we gonna see an update? After I can work on it. (other people are welcome to use my video as a start and do a bit more of it and post it, I don't mind.. this is a proof-of-concept / strategy vid, not the final version) I'm on vacation until the Epiphany anyway, maybe a bit after that. I trust that he'll find THE FASTEST way to finish it That's what the point of this video is, to find a good strategy. I'm making all the mistakes now so whoever does the final version knows exactly what to do to be fast. But I won't be fastest even after remaking it (if I do do the final version), there's always a way to improve. I'm genuinely sorry if that's true Don't be. It's not your fault that English has no good gender-neutral :-þ

Okay Boco-hime :D But does that mean you're not gonna do world 2 after world 1, even if you get strategic help? In that case I'd take over the making of the conceptual movie myself if REALLY nobody else wants to, just because I really want to see it finished. I've never made a superplay before, though. But we'll see! :) In any case, it's going just fine right now. EDIT: I'm guessing Sandara (Thunder2) or Ramuh work well against the cannons. The launchers of the large cannon are Lv. 50, so Lv. 5 Death will take care of them. Then use Sandara to finish off the Sol Cannon? In any case, ArchaeoAvis' second form is Lv. 20. Lv. 5 Death will kill him.

*Sol Cannon + Launchers ! Level: 36 & 50 Hit Points: 22,500 & 10,800 Location: Lonka Ruins Airship Exp. Points: 40 Gold Pieces: 40 Strategy: If you have learned L5 Doom use it to take out the 2 Launchers then doomclaw to weak him & kill him with another hit...

Depending on the strategy for the bosses of the 2nd world the end of the 1st needs to be done differently. I can keep going if you really want me to but doing the 2nd world chained off of my video instead of from hacked savestates would take a while.

Too expensive, time and MP-wise. For lightning-element attacks I'd be using rods or jutsu, not magic or summons. ArchaeoAvis's 5th form is level 20. I need to do four sets of 1600 damage first (and the damage doesn't overflow from one to the next).

Sol Cannon is Heavy so Death Claw won't work. And you conveniently skipped over the other cannons.. :-þ

Please proceed! I really really wanna see this run. I don't really care if 10 seconds can be saved overall if you do finish it, I just want to see it ;)

It's Epiphany so I'll start working on this again today or tomorrow. It shouldn't be very hard to see the movie through to the end of Ancient Library by the end of the week.

That's odd, maybe I typed that wrong & you can only use Doom Claw on the Launchers & not on the Sol Cannon... I have to check that & change it if needed...

Who needs Death Claw when you can just Lv. 5 Death those Launchers? (Even though it's possible.)

Classes and playtesting happened, so I haven't worked on it. When I catch up on all my work and get back in the swing of things I'll continue.

I'll repeat Bisqwit's question now, 3 months after his. :p Has FF5 progressed at all since then? I know you've been really busy, but I'm still very interested in this.

The next time I'll have time to do this is May. Between moving and finals. Then through summer I should have a little time,, The same kinds of delays happened on Zelda 2 which is why I'm really reluctant to hog an important game like this ^_^;; I'll gladly contribute to planning but actually playing is kind of expensive time-wise.

I'm willing to temporarily drop my FF3j run to work on this, personally. I'd like to see it done, and now that I've got some more experience in actually making movies, and working with Japanese games (in my case, done by simply making an English and a Japanese version), I'll see if I can make a few personal test runs. Just to get acquainted with the luck manipulation and the workings of the game in general. I'm not saying that I'll do it right now--I want to get my FF3j run in a further stage first--but if you're really busy and not too willing to work on it at least for a while, I'm willing to help you make this. We could work on it together, as in take turns in actually recording the frames, whenever both of us have time. I don't have much time myself, either. ;)

I'm all for "go for it". Boco has done a great job so far, but I'd hate to see the interest (of movie makers) dropping due to lack of time / energy, because it's sure interesting to _watch_.

Yeah. It's interesting to watch the player blaze through at ungodly low levels. :) I'm looking forward to this run more than FFVI because I've played the game so much. I've done a little bit of testing in Snes9x impr. and found it interesting enough to work with. Menu navigation's a little more tedious than FF3j, but it's alright. I'm sure I can do a lot more in terms of luck manipulation in this game than in FF3j, too. This run will seriously be very impressive when it's finished. Too bad there aren't any VRAM glitches, though. :)

I also would very much like to see it because FF5 is the best Final Fantasy ever ;) I could give you some tips if it will help you to speed up the process (if you even need any)
Which run should I encode next? :)

Tips are always welcome. Currently, Boco has everything planned up to the cannons and flying fortress. We don't really know how we're going to tackle those just yet ("we" being Boco and I, even though I haven't done any work on this run yet--I offered to help out and talked with her about strategies a bit, and exchanged ideas). The run will be finished at some point, because I agree that Final Fantasy V was a very interesting game, and is also one of the more interesting games to do a superplay on.

1. I think getting that Chicken Knife from Moore Village would be a great idea since you'll be doing lots of running away. 2. Also don't forget to use Thief's Dash ability so you can move faster. 3. Mastering (if that is possible in timeattack) Ninja or Hunter will most likely help in battles you can't run away from. Since from Ninja you get ability which allows you to equip 2 weapons and from Hunter you get S-Shot, which allows you to hit 4 times in one turn. 4. Definitely skip the 12 Legendary Weapons (they aren't that good) 5. If you somehow manage to get lots of money, GP Toss can do pretty good damage 6. Don't go get any summons or songs, they are pretty useless (except mayby Golem and Bahamut, but they will take some time to get them) 7. Teleport (Time)magic may come in handy in some caves etc. 8. Don't go to the Fork Tower to get Holy and Flare (takes way to much time) 9. Death Claw (the Blue magic) may come in handy if you know which monsters it hases effect
Which run should I encode next? :)
