This movie attempts to complete Metroid as fast as possible without fighting either one of the minibosses. I use the door glitch twice and Up+A once. I collect the Maru Mari, 30 Missiles, and Ice Beam (no Bombs.)
It is about 3:15 faster than ziplock's test movie. I tied Zoizite's 865 timeunits in the final shaft (FCE Ultra's frame counter is essential for mastering the technique there.)
I will respond in the Workbench Forum to whatever.

That's what stars are for, no? I just think Arc was trying to convey something different with this run. If he thought it might obselete his any% run, I doubt he would have submitted it.

I was under the (false?) impression that the stars were to set off the "best of the best" that makes the site shine. I don't think making liberal use of stars is the best policy.

And about the stars (sorry for off-topic), IMO even though some less interesting game is played _as perfectly as possible_ it shouldn't get a star if the game simply is little known among people and boring. I think only known games mainly should even get a star. Too many stars would give an impression that submissions without stars are imperfect - why even have those on the site. I think it's pretty much like this already. *thumbs up*

Well anyway... About the run. Spider Waffle posted something in the NES games forum that I was also curious about. Can't you get a ripper to spawn at the top of the ice beam shaft so you don't have to wait?
