Actually if you try it yourself, you'll notice that by shooting 1 frame sooner you get the X 2 frames later. =) Edit: Awww crap, just realized I can actually grab the X about 4 frames sooner than I did. At least it's not too far back to redo.

This confuses and perplexes me... Even though I was able to grab the X 4 frames sooner, after falling and morphing I was only up by 2 frames and then loading the next room was only 1 frame.   • Your Arachnus fight was still 1 frame slower than it should be
  • I love the Core-X end, but you should of shot or span after the message
  • You didn't shoot after getting the missile tank after the Atmospheric Stabilizer
  • In the Eye-Door room; the Crumble Blocks, the Morph Unmorph.
  • Why did you shoot in the Eye-X room (obviously you turn faster), but it just seemed too unnecessary
  • And why did you shoot in the 4th Atmospheric Stabilizer room
  • Nice little glitch sound effect in the Pre-Energy Tank Room

It may seem unnecassary, but the timing of it all puts the eye in the right spot to grab the X that much quicker. The eye door wasn't going to open any sooner, so I just crawled over to him slowly. I shot in the 4th stabilizer room cause i was bored and decided to open up those blocks you're SUPPOSE to shoot the stabilizer from. =P Important question. I know there's some minor things I could tweak(probably won't, too happy with the Core-X fight and don't wanna screw it up), but is it entertaining to watch?

Decided I would post this update BEFORE I start the boss, this way I won't be nearly as reluctant to go back and fix it. =) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1983/DeignhalfSec2.vbm This is just up to killing the eye door. I'm having a difficult time trying to get the boss to act how I want so I'm going to take a break and see if there's anything I need to change before I kill him. EDIT: I already know I need to fix the room where I get the 3rd missile tank. Don't know why I didn't think to shoot the red guy.

Going great, Deign. I won't give you any detailed analysis, however there are several points that I wanted to ask you about: • 57750—57800, can you shoot both blocks to move a bit farther to the left and thus be able to have some more horizontal momentum while falling between the ceiling and the floor? • 66950—67000, that jump looks a bit awkward. Are you sure this place can't be done any faster? • 67723, why do you take damage here, if it obviously slows you down? The rest seems clean to me. Keep up the good work.

Ok, let me answer you're questions. 1. Where I land is as far over as you can land so destroying both blocks is inconsequential. 2. I had some problems with those 2 red jumpy things (no clue what their name is). This was the quickest way I could do this room. Hopefully After I redo the room before this one they will move in a different path so that I don't have to slow down. 3. Since I'm going to have to redo up to this room, I'll try some different methods. I'm not 100% certain there's much of a faster way tho =/ Taking a small break now so that I don't get burned out on this project. Maybe another week and I'll have Sector 2 finished up.

Probably the SA-X encounter, it didn't look as fast as possible. The rest seems flawless. Edit: To find the ingame timer, you need to search the memory (in VBA: "Cheats —> Search for cheats...") for addresses which increment according to the timing (eg. every 60 frames for ingame seconds, every 3600 frames for minutes, etc.). Edit2: the most valuable addresses usually are the ingame time counters (including bomb detonation and shinespark charge counters), horizontal/vertical position meters, boss health meters and the like.

Wrong, there are 64 frames in an ingame second. Also at the moment I've only found Zero Mission's and the Japanese Fusion's ingame timer

LOL, now that is really dumb. How about the ingame frame counter? Saturn managed to find one that acts just like the Snes9x's one (it simply goes from 0 to 65535 ingame frames and then starts anew) in Super Metroid — probably Fusion has something like that?

The in-game timer is at 03000139 have 8 bit and decimal display on Oh yeah the SA-X chase sucked, there's also other frame imperfections that don't matter because of Zazabi

k, worked with the SA-X encounter for a long while, about 30 frames quicker, and I fixed something I missed before. So all in all 36 frames faster.

• 84600 — firing a missile slows you down a bit. Wouldn't it be better to charge a beam beforehand and just do a pseudo screw attack through that crab? • 87700 — you move against a wall for half a second. I take it that you were manipulating the eyedoor at that point?

As well as what moozooh said 85760 (After the missile tank): You unmorphed, when you should have jumped (yes, it's also quicker with morph ball) 86097 (Bombing): You just went into the wall... Just before Serris it's quicker to pull yourself up than to jump

Moozooh: I had to fire the missile cause i couldn't fall past that platform without landing on it without pausing in some way. So I fired the missile to get the horizontal distance to get over that platform. PJBoy: After many tries, I couldn't seem to finish the missile pack room any quicker than before even with trying to jump while morphed instead of trying to unmorph. The bombing, I couldn't seem to get the normal rolling headstart here. I couldn't figure out why, every attempt was either, hit the wall, or get slowed down by the mine. But I will definately change how I climb up in the boss room. Just spent an hour tryin different methods on these rooms to no avail...sorry =/ p.s. PJ, I know you canceled your 11% Hard mode run because it was too close to MegaFrosts 0%, but what about doing an any% run on the normal US version, you'd have to get less missile packs and you would have more missiles at your disposal. Would it make enough of a difference? Just curious.

I'll tell you the improvements over 0% possible 140 frames on Arachnus with 1 Missile Tank or 175 with 2 330 frames per Missile Tank on Yakuza 330 frames per Missile Tank on Nettori 330 frames per Missile Tank on Nightmare and Probably 70-140 frames on Ridley Bringing up a total of 1305 frames, minus the time taken to get them

Thank you, in fact 3 jumps was the least I could get him to give me. Which is why I manipulated him after the first shot by letting him capture me for 1/2 a second. Otherwise I think it would have been a total of 5 or 6 if I remember right. PJ, thats almost depressing that an any% saves so few frames. Well, I'll look forward to watching your Zero mission then.
