Alright, I got my motivation back for this game, at least for the moment being :). VBM Youtube Goes up to the Minish Village (Well... almost). Edit: Oops, stupid mistake. Improved my own WIP by 10 frames, 149 faster than Atma.

Loved the WIP, excellent work :) I have been screwing around in the Palace of Winds trying to find a way to get to Roc's cape before entering Temple of Droplets. Using the ocarina glitch and the cape in the Temple of Droplets the flippers are no longer needed.... I have been unsuccessful so far though. I tried Block Merging á la Link's Awakening and several other ideas but nothing seems to even get close to work :(

I loved how you utterly disemboweled the boss of the first dungeon.

I take it killing enemies for money isn't worthwhile? It's been a long time since I played this one. Also, can you use the gust pot to trigger the switch that makes the bridge? Anyway, looking good!

Sadly, the gustjar doesn't work to activate the switch, so a bomb was the fastest way. To be honest, I didn't really plan the route for the rupees well enough at the start. In theory, it would be much faster to be able to manipulate blue rupees everywhere you go. When I first experimented with the manipulation, I had a very hard time to get blue rupees from enemies and pots, so I decided to do it the safe way and waste about 800 frames to grab the 20 rupee chest in the first dungeon. There's a slight chance that I'll redo that part and try to manipulate them instead. As I can easily hex in the rest of the run after the S&Q. Also: Thanks!

Luck manipulation in this game is horrible. Including enemy drops in a rupee route is a recipe for insanity, unless it's preceeded by a lot of RNG research and a LUA script. :/

You just keep tearing this game a new one, question though: it looked like you could hit the boss' shell some frames sooner in his final stage... is that possible or is it some unlucky timing with his flashing?

The last phase always takes a long time before you can hit the shell. I hit it as early as I could and there's nothing, to my knowledge, you can do speed it up.

I thought it was something like that, just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Rolling, moving and, most importantly, swinging change the RNG. You can swing once every 2 frames and you can manipulate enemies while they are dying (the time between they have 0 hp and the drop actually appears). This suggests that manipulating drops is relatively easy.

Looking good so far... Loving your progress... PS: Tried some more to get Roc's Cape before the flippers (thus making it possible to ignore the flippers) but no luck, it seems like the programmers really made sure no one should be able to skip those flippers.

I can see why this WIP was such a pain to make, but what a result, I don't think there is any chance for this to be faster unless a new glitch is found.

There are several ways to make it faster. One was just mentioned and is a very stupid thing that I overlooked, saved 53 frames. Time to redo half the dungeon :D.

D'oh. Now when I see it, it's obvious... I need to play the game more before I draw the conclusion that something is optimized again.
