For bmp00007.bmp it's my fault. I forgot to include it. Howver, what you did should have fixed it. Warnings are from original Gens code. As for the unresolved symbols, I dont know. It looks like the compiler tries to link with the original Gens compiled objects. Have you tried a clean rebuild ?

Yeah, I tried a clean rebuild. What version of .net do you have? 2002 or 2003? might be slight differences that causes all those errors. I have the 2003 version of Visual Studio. I've necer had any problems with it before when compiling source i've downloaded off the net.

Some progress report for upcomming TEST9b :
- Slowndown mode with sound disabled is now more stable - New option in Graphic menu: "Never skip a frame with auto frameskip". - You can now advance frames one by one when the game is paused. To do it, first assign an Advance frame key in Options/Joypads... menu. - You can now define a Movie path in Options/Directories... menu - You can now disable the blue pause screen effect in Options/Misc... menu - New framecounter. To activate it, go in Option/Misc... menu. Time is showed as minutes:seconds:frame. You can change its position too. - Read-only is now disable by default. - If Read-only is disabled and you load a savestate while a movie is playing, the movie will switch to recording (like in Famtasia and Snes9X) - Movies are automaticly closed on reset. - A red circle will blink if a movie is being recorded.

This sounds very good! :D One problem I've recently found is that when paused, other layers of text are displayed on top of the 'emulation paused' text, making them unreadable. Is that easily fixed?

Will Test9b be done anytime soon? Also.. I'm missing a speed up key simmilar to the one in Zsnes or Snes9x. So far I've only seen a slow down function in Gens.

I have a quick suggestion: Include a frame-advance button such as the one FCEUltra has. I have found this invaluable, and it would surely help in any future Genesis movies I make.

Dan: Check earlier in this thread somewhere, he mentions this as one of the features added to 9b I believe. -Josh

I've read through most of your posts and it I couldnlt find a link to get test9b or even 9c (if it is out already). I only have 9a because it is easily accessible on back on post#1. I'm definitely hoping for a "record movie from now"-feature, because not all interesting games are designed that way to have equally interesting portions throughout. Anyway, maybe I missed something obvious but how can I download 9b or 9c, if they are done?

9c isn't ready for public yet. If you want it, send me a PM (as I want to know who possess this version). The feature you want (record new movie from now) isn't in 9c. This feature is after the AVI gui on my todo list.

Oh, I see. Not every version gets released. Anyway, I'll be waiting anyway for the version with that feature (record new movie from now) because that makes all the difference for me. Don't feel rushed. I think we're all happy that someone is setting his time aside to do something we all can't or don't want to learn. I'll wait patiently, thanks.

It seems the links for Jyzero's versions are down at the moment :/ , are there any mirrors? I would also like to know whether these recordings work in a Kaillera netplay situation ? This was a huge problem for me in the Gens+ with movie recording, it would only record one frame and no more or less when trying to make movies in a netplay situation. I asked the author of Gens+, Rodrigo Cardoso if it was possible to fix the problem here's what he had to say: "Your request is not difficult to do, wait for newer version gens. Gens Plus! will not be released no more, all gens plus! implements now goes to gens 3." I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this Jyzero patch to be able to provide this option :) swos

The server came up again and I downloaded the 9a version of it. To my sad recognizion it seems the movie recording in a netplay situation isn't working in this otherwise great work of Jyzero's either :/ I can only hope this option would be implemented in some time in the future. The option for me his highly needed since I play this game NHL94 online with my friends and we are also playing leagues and tournaments, and with this recording method I have hoped to store the greatest moments of our games. swos

I could try adding movie recording support with Netplay. However : -A lot of features won't work : savestates, slowdown, frameskip, AVI, misc key remapping, ... -I don't know if the resulting movie file will play without desync out of netplay. -I don't have freetime to do it until next week.

I see. I know there are problems regarding memory storing in the netplay. Heck, you can save the line formation in NHL94 only to find out you cannot load it in the next game :/ I wonder why it is made that way? when I started movie recording in gens plus on a fly (in your version you are required to record from the beginning) and then tried to play the movie in the netplay situation you could continue from the same position the recording started, but it hadn't recorded any frames, only the starting location. So in a way save states are possible that way, through a loophole :) Anyway, I hope this thing could be worked out without any problems, but I understand it can be a too big of a trouble, after all you're making the movie recording mainly for offline purposes only. swos

I think the reason is that both players would have to have the same gamesave and I don't think it's possible to detect whether the saves are identical atm. I suppose there's the possibility of sending the save file through the program
