Dracula is back once again, and this time Annet and Maria are locked up in some unknown locations.

Dan started this movie about 1½ years ago (Sept. 2004), but had to stop at Stage 4 - the mine. A few days ago I (Nightcom) started a TAS for this game without reading the topic about it, which was kind of dumb but gave me good practice that I otherwise wouldn't have had.
I started to really enjoy how it was speedrun, with all the backflips and other precise timing one had to go through. So I decided to take the honor of continuing the unfinished run all the way to and through the final battles. I must confess that this was probably the hardest Dracula I've ever experienced, and that the movie makes the overall game look much easier than it is - in my opinion.
Anyway, enjoy the "flipped out" movie. ;)
It'd be best to use one in that area since it's the first level and more people would probably recognize it in case they haven't played through the whole game.

I found Super Castlevania IV's Dracula fight to be much easier than this. At least there you didn't have to worry about dying from falling down a hole.

Oh, I almost forgot about Castlevania II's Dracula battle. It was very easy even on a console to beat him without taking a hit. That's what made that game so disappointing. Hard game, super duper easy boss. ;_;

I haven't watched it but what makes it more interesting than http://tasvideos.org/296S.html which is faster than your version?

This version saves Richter's sister and fiance, ie: resulting in the Best Ending. The other movie, though faster, does not.

Castlevania: Dracula X has 3 endings: 1) Nobody saved. Ending has Richter on a horse looking into the distance. 2) Maria only saved. Ending shows Richter holding Maria while a silohette of Annet is shown. 3) Both saved. As far as my crappy memory can recall, it's impossible to save only Annet.

It is impossible to save only Annet. Richter 'discovers' Annet's location when he saves Maria. If you don't save Maria, then you either can't get into Annet's room, or she isn't there. Or, maybe you can't access the stage she is in at all. I can't remember the specifics, but it's one of those. And, if I recall, if you save Maria, but not Annet, you have to fight a possessed Annet in place of Death on the Clocktower, which was pretty neat.

Nah, two should do it. A Best Ending run, and a Fast as Possible run. There's no need to make a run for the middle ending.

I just double checked, and the door leading to Stage 5' won't open if you didn't save Maria.

Gets my vote for run with + the largest font in the end credits. + the most backflips.

Just downloaded and watched this video (thanks Phil for publishing it, I know how much you hate games where the fastest way to move is absurd). I really enjoyed this movie best Castlevania video I've seen in a while. Although some mistakes seemed blatant to me, and I see others here in the thread already covered them. And now I know how to save the second girl, I never realized you had to stop the water there, thanks.

I'll save you my rambles about logarithmic nesvideos quality scales on which I think this movie is around 70%, but let's say that I hope someone takes the task of improving this movie. It looks too obvious to me (even before I read any comments in this thread) that it can be improved. Generally, not just in certain well-defined spots. With better precision and planning.

Here's a fun fact: This movie plays all the way up to Stage 2 if you use the "Trevor Belmont" hack of Dracula X. I was hoping for a miracle, but I guess there are actual dialogue changes that prevent the movie from synching correctly.(Which is logical considering you're playing as Fake Ralph complete with bleeding Bone Cross.)
I'm not that hard to find... if you know where to look. -=( http://jolikmc.tumblr.com )=-

Improvements so far what i have found : i was able to save much frames in the beginning of the game.. * Intro & pressings (19 frames saved) * Firstscreen (1 frame saved "room was really hard to improve") * Secondscreen (18 frames saved by using new techniques jumpings, taking damage etc.) is there any faster way to beat the game as beating the game with "best ending" ?

There's the medium ending which is faster because of no detour to get the 2nd girl and a faster fight for the 6th boss. Then there is the worst ending where you don't have the saving the girl detour, and possibly that route may also be faster if you take the falling of the candles route.
