Uses FCEU 0.98.15 Aims for fastest time Abuses programming errors Kirby's Adventure is a long adventure game where you must beat 7 bosses and the nightmare. You can inhale certain enemies to get their powers.
In this run, you may notice that I keep the UFO power after the level is finished. This is an error in the game. To keep the UFO power, you must find a level that you have already beaten and that has UFO in it. Then, get the UFO power and press start and select at the same time. From the menu, pick exit level, and you will have the UFO power forever. The only disadvantage is the UFO can't go down ladders, which means some levels must be done without it.

Bisqwit: Rejected for being improveable, as discussed in the Kirby's Adventure thread.

>this is like, 6 minutes faster than the currently published run. Like moozooh explained, it's actually 1.5 minutes due to different ROM versions. If I understand the situation correctly, there was also a WIP by JXQ which was faster than this, but which kirbymuncher has since beat. See the NES topic. >... more fun to watch than published runs on games like crystalis, final fantasy 6, adventure island and all the ridiculously broken glitch runs Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder. Speed is not, and this has obvious imperfections in this area (or so I've been told).

I couldn't find this explanation, but I think it's backwards. The movie's description says:
Note: Famtasia plays PAL games at NTSC speed, that is 16.7% too fast. Thus the AVI is significantly faster than the movie should actually be.
So the AVI Bisqwit did needs to be extended to 1.2 times its current length for fair comparison, and 53:17 X 1.2 = 1:03:56. Compared against this submission's 44:24, this is actually 19 minutes and 32 seconds faster than the published submission. I would say optimizing this strategy you might be able to push this run below 40 minutes.

Error. The AVI length is 48:40, and it includes the ending. It was run on Famtasia, which runs the game at 60 fps. The FMV length is 53:17, and that already is derived from the 50 fps rate. It is the length of how it would appear on my (European) TV. (Assuming Famtasia did everything right except the FPS) So this movie would really be around 10 minutes faster than my movie. However, it is possible that European Kirby on European TV does not run at the same rate as USA Kirby on an USA TV. Thus whichever way, the timings don't match. Someone maybe should verify this.

I hope the run wouldn't be 1:03:56 on NTSC timing. That would be a HORRIBLE run, given I've nearly matched that while hitting all the switches (gettin 100%). And that wasn't TASed.

I think it roughly comes out to be 44:23, if I did my math more correctly than JXQ. (53min*60sec+17sec)*0.833 = 2663.101 sec

You can't be rounding with fractions son!!! If you put just one more 3 on that decimal approximation of 5/6, you get 2664!!! THAT AINT YO CAKE PHILLIP!!!!!! ...ahem.. However, it's actually just a coincidence that Bisqwit's run * 5/6 (which would be NTSC -> PAL conversion, which is the opposite direction that is needed if any were needed for this run) is the same length as this submission (44:24).
