Yes vote! Take THAT, perfectionists! Though honestly the only reason it's entertaining is because of the shortness of the game and the unexpectedness of there actually being a glitch like that in such a simple game.

Wow nice discovery. I am voting yes. Though you didn't played with death. When I red it was 8 seconds faster, I thought it was a similar trick like the Atari version but it's a little different. I wonder why no one had found it before. It can be done at full speed. At least, I never claim it to be perfect but JXQ's gang is still happy.

I definitely would love to know how to do that trick
He pressed down at the 1st frame possible, so that he was on the block to the left of the bottom of that ladder (the block under the ladder is 1 pixel higher) and therefore he was inside the block under that ladder. He could climb because he wasn't touching the floor, and he could climb downwards because there's nothing stopping him. He was on a ladder, so instead of dying when he hit the bottom of the screen, he wrapped up to the top (the bottom of the screen is FF, after FF comes 00 aka the top), so it's just a matter of climbing the rest of the way down the ladder and completing the level

Thanks everyone! Yes this trick can be done in real time very easily. I stumbled upon it while testing to see if up+down did anything on ladders (which is doesn't). You just need to press the down button on the right frame. The window of opportunity is only 1 pixel, so it may take a few tries to get in real time.

That's because the AVI only took 2 seconds to encode.

That's because it takes about 15 minutes to accept and encode Donkey Kong, at best. :)

Incredible find hero! Such a easy, yet completely unexpected glitch, just confirms your unlimited creativity. :-) A bit late, but obvious YES vote of course.

Ohhh epic win. This goes to show something mathematicians have known for a long time: never assume something to be proven just because you can't think of any way to disprove it!

Just to give everyone a heads up, Phil plans on submitting a new run that gets the EXACT same time as this one. He actually threatened me in a private chat to submitting the run in both our names in hopes that people would still vote yes on it. This type of bullying behavior is unacceptable, and I am greatly saddened that this takes place on a site that I love. Though his run should get rejected for not actually improving the time, it is still very insulting.

The truth is that I think the movie could be more entertaining. By "Playing with death" and some other imaginative moves. I ask him: <PhilCote> But if I don't beat you which I suspect, but the movie looks entertaining. Will you have any objection that I submit the run as "Played by Hero of the day and Phil. Côté" ?" <herooftheday> I dunno phil Then later: <PhilCote> So do you accept my proposition? <herooftheday> sorry phil, I don't think this type of game lends itself to differences in entertainment. I have to decline your offer. From a guy that want cooperation to create better movies, it doesn't look so.

The game is the same no matter how you play it. You walk, then you climb up ladders. It cannot be "more entertaining" simply by getting closer to a flame. I achieved the current best time. I even told you that if you improved my run by a single frame, I would be the first person to vote yes. And you left out the part where you threatened to use the fact that I declined your offer against me.

I say the movie CAN be more entertaining. You didn't even watch the movie and you are saying it's impossible. Imo, it's the lame way to say my video is perfect like it is.

Phil, he's not saying his movie is perfect. In fact, he's saying that if you improve it with even one frame he will be the first one to vote yes.

Fuck that. A good movie doesn't mean fast as possible. And it's clearly stated in guidelines and such. Anyway, my opinion is that this is a "pride movie" I did voted too quickly. I vote No now. They ask me to be more cooperative, I try to be like they wish and they put a wall in my face. FU.

So you didn't enjoy watching this movie since the last time you voted because hero didn't want his name on a non-faster run? What?
Voted NO for NO reason

And how is this different than what you did to Sleepz? His run was more entertaining than yours, but yours was accepted because it was faster. Due to precedent, the only thing that matters at this site is speed. YOU SET THAT PRECEDENT by beating sleeps run by a couple frames. My run is the fastest one possible, unless you can beat my time your run comes in 2nd place.

Sleepz didn't even work on this game.
