Yeah, how'd you do that, was it just dumb luck or just really good luck manipulation?

Could someone re-host or possibly torrent this? I'd love to see it.

I've been looking for a PSX game to work with as a long term project as I get more accustomed to PCSX, and I stumbled upon the easy mode run on SDA. I've never played the game, but it obviously reminds me most of Gunstar Heroes, which is certainly a good thing. But since I don't know anything the best way to go about the run, I'm asking for some ideas and/or help. I'm guessing a 2 player run would be most awesome, and probably faster, unless the enemies get an extra large boost in HP. Other than that, I'll have to make a full playthrough to get an idea of what I'm in for. Any pointers from anyone who knows the game better than I do?

The Metal Slug series is also available on arcades; wouldn't it be preferable to play this game on the "original" hardware? I'd imagine the PSX would be more prone to slowdown, though I grant I haven't watched any movies of gameplay on it. My only advice is to make certain to show off all the different weapons, transformations, and animations available in the game, even if it's slower. The Metal Slug series is so superbly drawn and animated that it'd be a shame to miss out on all the little details. For example, when overweight your melee weapon turns into a fork and your idle animations include devouring donuts. You should probably also turn one character into a mummy at least for a little while, despite the massive DPS nerf (due to being limited to the pistol and incredibly slow grenades). And there's the Hadoken-throwing POW, the soldier reactions to your arrival, the vast quantities of destructible backgrounds (especially in stage 4)... One possible "rule" for the gameplay to prevent it from being too arbitrary would be to save every POW and get the vehicle bonus at the end of every stage. The slowdowns inherent in achieving that goal should give you enough room to show off a lot of little details.

The PSX version of Metal Slug X is plagued by missing animation, low quality versions of the music, and loading times. Now that arcade emulation seems to be accepted on the site, I would suggest doing the arcade version if possible.

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure how the PSX version compared. I'll look into the existing arcade threads. :)
