Rules of the #nesvideos IRC channel

All users of #nesvideos IRC channel must adhere to freenode.net policy.

Discussion board rules are enforced where applicable (for example, asking for ROM links or providing them is not allowed).

Most of this stuff is common sense.

IRC specific "no"s and "do"s

  • No autorejoin. If for some reason we need to disconnect you from the channel (regardless of fault) and autorejoin is on, you will be banned from our IRC channel.
    • Autorejoin = joining automatically back on the channel after being kicked. BAD.
    • Autojoin = joining automatically on your favourite channels when a server connection is established. GOOD.
  • Use /away properly. Most importantly, do not spew away/setback messages on the channel.
  • No bots except NesVideoAgent.
    • No public automated messages of any other kind, including "now playing" scripts.

Operators

Channel operation is handled mostly by ChanServ of Freenode. We give operator permissions to a few trusted users on a need basis. Do not request operator permissions.
An operator's "common sense" takes priority.
