"Stars" are a showcase of some of the coolest movies on the site.
Overview
The goal of stars is to showcase a variety of movies such that anyone who has played a video game before can find a Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay to love.
Suggestions and feedback are taken from this forum thread and also the TASVideos Discord in the "#stars" channel.
Guidelines
The only strict rule when nominating a movie for a star is to not nominate your own movies. Everything else here is not strict, though should be kept in mind to ensure stars retain their meaning.
Stars should be movies that are highly impressive to a casual audience in some way. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, noticeably inhuman precision, technical achievement, and pure entertainment.
Stars should also be varied, as not everyone has the same tastes and preferences. All types of genres, games, franchises, platforms, and TAS branches should be represented. While franchises and individual games can have multiple stars if warranted, having a variety is preferred to keep stars from being dominated by similar-looking (though still equally impressive) movies.
Generally improvements will inherit the Star of their predecessor unless there's significant discussion otherwise.
Random Star Movie
Kirby's Dream Land 3 is the fifth platformer video game starring Kirby. Specifically, it is the third game under the Kirby's Dream Land name. Although the first two games were largely unrelated, Dream Land 3 features many returning characters from Dream Land 2. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards serves as the sequel to this game.
After the events of Kirby's Dream Land 2, Kirby and Gooey are on a fishing trip, when all of a sudden, Dark Matter appears and shatters the planet's rings. He then proceeds to possess various Dream-Landers, including King Dedede. Kirby and Gooey team up with Rick, Coo, and Kine, as well as new characters Pitch, ChuChu, and Nago, in order to stop Dark Matter.
WaddleDX collects all the Heart Stars, fights the true final boss, and achieves the best ending in record time.
