Comments

For a long time I have wanted to push Acmlm's original run of this game below 1 minute, but I was stuck near the beginning. Eventually though persistence and some help from my random guessing script got me to the end. Acmlm's run can actually be truncated down to right around 1 minute, as it will still beat the game with no further input after that point. By this standard, this run is ~200 frames faster.
This run also uses a mechanic that I'm not sure Acmlm was aware of. The blocks that appear white with green edge (as opposed to green with white edge) will clear all the blocks on screen if you make a rectangle out of them. I take advantage of this in several places. It pauses the screen for a bit, but it provides a great deal of freedom for luck manipulation during that time.
While there is probably a slightly faster run possible, the level of effort (and pure luck) needed does not interest me, and I'm happy that I reached my goal.

Tompa: I will judge!
Tompa: Well done, accepted!
fsvgm777: Processing.

Neat. The original run of this game wasn't that interesting to me, but that's because I didn't pay enough attention to the actual rules of the game. It's good to revisit this. It looks nice and speedy, and the occasional use of those all-clear white blocks was cool to see. I'd say this is sufficiently entertaining for 1 minute to get a Yes vote!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

That was amazing. I would like to see a TAS of the Game Boy version as well.

This TAS is the perfect length, the run is completed long before it starts to get repetitive, let alone mundane. You can tell a lot of thought was put into finding the optimal solution. Interesting and entertaining, yes vote from me

It's cute, faster, entertaining and under a minute. Yes.

This TAS can be improved a lot, but it's not that simple. Theoritically it might be possible to dodge every single blocks. However it seems that there is only a maximum number of avoids to be abused. Refer to my old usermovie here for more info: User movie #6679761040043330
