Objectives/Features:
  • Kills no enemies
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Uses warps
  • Abuses programming errors (keeps speed+ even after powerup is gone)
  • Manipulates luck
This is a 42.5 seconds improvement over my previous submission. Many things were improved and this version was made with what i consider nearly perfect precision for this game, but the biggest improvements come from pizza battles and wack-a-mole stages.
This run aims for fastest completion without killing a single enemy or dangerous devices. It's a 100% pacifist run (except for the bosses who starve to death!). Why this? because the game is too easy for a normal play through, anybody who have played the game will see that this is no easy thing to pull out. Personally, i think it's humanly impossible to beat the game this way, especially because of the acquired momentum jump required over the green worm box outside the factory stage. There was only 1 possible way to pass through it, 1 frame or pixel wrong meant certain death.
The warps proved useless, except for when they were used to skip pizza contests. It was, surprisingly, faster to just finish the level, if it had no pizza contest at it's end. So, the run uses 2 warps only, the one at the circus and the one at the haunted mansion.
The bug i exploit is to keep the extra horizontal speed of either the invincibility or the black outfit powerups after they wear off. This is acomplished by not standing on the ground for longer than 1 frame (keep jumping, rabbit!).
PS.: I couldn't hex-edit the movie file to include the header information that was lost when using the easy byte modificator... FCM is too complicated. I hope the missing info isn't too bad of a problem.
edit: i found another place to improve, cancelling this..

It's important that the people learn about Noid, and why he ruins pizzas. It was a good movie, overall, and Foda's got some nice rhythm in that last level. And then there's this: I mean, what the hell IS that?! Oh well. Yes vote.

Weird game ;) I just tried it myself and I tried to do it quite fast and always died, when a platform got under water for about an inch or so and so my rabbit (or whatever this thing is) drowned. But with some patience it surely is very easy. But without killing an enemy it certainly isn't that easy. It looks quite funny, when you're hopping all the time. You'd get a "Yes", but I cannot vote yet. :( Hope, you now got some time for Mario :) PS: I'm not that new as it appears to be, but I've been just a reader for about half a year and watched most of the runs on this site.

I can't say I really understand what's going on in this run either... especially during the pizza contests. After several tries, I will concur that this game is very difficult to beat without attacking anything. I also liked the rythm in the helicopter stage. Voting yes.

thanks. but i just cancelled it because i found a several seconds improvement. the pizza battles were heavily manipulated so the enemy would choose his cards quickly
