The submission message follows:
- Emulator used: dega-1.14a
- Aims for fastest time
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Genre: Adventure
Comments My second TAS, and also my second TAS of a King's Quest port. About the game This game is a port of the original King's Quest, for the Sega Master System. Now, unlike the KQV port for the NES, the graphics in this port have actually been upgraded from the original rather than downgraded. This game also plays much faster than the KQV port, and it's much shorter, so I think this one really made for a better TAS than KQV did. About the run This is an any% run, as there are plenty of items you don't need to pick up in order to finish the game. I just got the bare essentials, except I also picked up the slingshot and the pebbles as it's faster to kill the giant than wait for him to fall asleep. Notes - The aforementioned programming errors I abused aren't that many (only two, in fact), and I didn't save a whole lot of time by abusing them, but every frame counts, right? Anyway, you'll probably spot them, but in case you don't:
- I crossed a river by walking behind a tree instead of using the bridge.
- I entered the door leading to the long stairway from the back.
- The witch was home when I entered her house. The only real difference this made to the run, was that I had to position myself a little differently when stealing her cheese, which was about five frames or so slower than if she hadn't been home. I could have "luck manipulated" her away, but that would have cost more time than I would have gained from it.
- I know it looks like it's faster to walk around the table on the left side when acquiring the fiddle, but walking on the right side is actually a whopping four frames faster.
NesVideoAgent: Hi! I am a robot. I took a few screenshots of this movie and placed them here. Oh! I also corrected the ROM name. - You indicated King's Quest (UE) [!].sms
- I updated it to King's Quest - Quest for the Crown (U) [!].sms
Truncated: I think this is cool, so I will accept it.

Nice work, BZero. You pay a lot of attention to little details to make it fast. The two little anomalies were enjoyable.
If you are interested trying more this type of adventure games, please take a look at a Genesis/SNES game called Scooby Doo Mystery. |

I am gonna give this a weak yes. Not interesting to me, but I think this is a great play through, that many others will enjoy.
Why are there leprechauns? And why did the king have a heart attack? _________________ The best super-hero? Batman, by far.

I tried to get bored, but the movie finished before I could. :( Guess I'll vote yes.
By the way, I suppose it only makes sense, but all I could think about when watching the run was how it reminded me of Peasant's Quest. |

Not really shocking, since Peasant's Quest IS a mainly a parody of this game.
Anyway, this gets a yes from me! |

Indeed, that was pretty obvious. |

Game of few words done fast.
Yes vote.
Have you checked if it is faster to guess the gnome's name correctly and do the beanstalk route? |

Well, a lot like the KQV submission. Except a fraction of the length, and fast menus. That makes it a lot more publish worthy. It is still a rather dull concept to me though. I'll give it a meh. _________________ http://tasvideos.org/Adelikat.html

| The Master System was interesting for ports in that games often received radical facelifts. Notable examples are Prince of Persia and Montezuma's Revenge. |

For me the highlights of the movie were:
1) character animation (priceless);
2) leprechauns;
3) the king's final speech and everything that happens after that. :)
It was more enjoyable than I had expected. _________________ My page here
