The ID movement has had one unfortunate repercussion: Now everyone thinks that all christians are Young Earth Creationists, and thus the whole christianity is being mocked because of the ID movement. Of course this couldn't be farther from the truth. There are significant portions of christianity which don't have a problem in believing that the Universe and the Earth are millions of years old, and that the creation story is metaphorical, depicting a very long process. Not all christians believe that scientists are a satanic conspiracy dedicated to eradicate christianity. What the ID movement has achieved is that many christians are now ashamed of saying they are christians because people immediately assume they are Young Earth Creationists.

They're just doing this because they both feel insecure with their believes and are trying to find reassurement by testing if their believe systems can hold up against those of others. Kind of pointless. :/
The more we test things, the closer we come to the truth.

However, the Bible says that there was no death before Adam sinned, which is in contradiction with what the theory of evolution says (millions of animals died before humans evolved). Isn't it interesting that in the past Christians used to believe in the Bible and form their worldview based on the Bible, but nowadays Christians have a worldview (evolution/science), and they form the Bible according to that worldview.

Not that there's anything to be ashamed of if one believes that the earth is young, at least not in my opinion. Young Earth Creationists exist mostly only in the USA, probably because there aren't so many public schools there. (public schools brainwash people to believing in evolution)

But we are talking about beliefs here. There is no truth to be gotten to. The truth is we cannot know if there is a God. We can only believe and have faith. Also, if you truly believe in God there's no need for testing. Sorry for posting this in the wrong thread. :/

If you've seen the "laugh at creationists" videos nfq linked to it becomes quite clear that it's a parody, and an amazingly funny one as well. "Well, the reason Hitler did the evil things he did was because he was a Roman Catholic." A video by the same user: I love you; but you are Satan

It kinda depends on your definition of God. According to Hinduism (which is mainly what I believe in) the self and God are the same thing, and other religious scriptures also suggest the same thing. I think it's also possible to prove that "God" creates world... at least some day in the future it will be possible. And ancient sages claimed to have been proven it long ago already.

That is the exact kind of thing that can not be proven. Even if it was blinked into existence one afternoon, there would be no way of know if god was behind it. If it was proven that it formed over centuries through physics and whatnot, there would still be no way of knowing if god was the guiding hand behind it. If you mean the "world" is the more abstract sense, then it becomes impossible to even define what you really mean by "created". Kuwaga is right, and it is an utterly pointless argument. Neither side is even looking for the same sort of "proof", so any attempt to "prove" it only serves to impress people who already agree with you. Also: old as the internet itself, just stumbled upon the burgess calls again.

Death of the physical body is not the only death the Bible talks about.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naVshTpD9l0 How can a game made in 2006 be so badly implemented? I mean, really. It's just horrible! Did the authors even play their own game? This is completely beyond comprehension.

Its a console, what did you expect? Modern day consoles are pretty shitty in that regard.

Ugh, that really is horrible... It kinda reminds of when I bought Final Fantasy 6 for PSX. I was really annoyed that the loading times were much longer compared to the SNES version. Just entering the menu took 2-3 seconds or so... Those horrible memories...

I think the issue there is that the developers expected you to install the game to the 360's hard drive, but not all 360s have hard drives. I don't remember the development history for the 360, but that might have surprised the Sonic developers (who could have assumed that like the original XBox, all 360s would have hard drives). It's still inexcusable that the load times are that bad, mind you. I'm just hypothesizing for a reason they are like that. Doesn't help the game itself being crap, of course.

It's not just the loading times, but the ridiculous frequency at which it pops up the loading screen. I can't believe that the scenery and data required for the minigame depicted in the video couldn't be loaded and kept in memory for the whole duration of the minigame... I can't understand what kind of developer would think it's a good idea to load before each question and each answer and each result and... I'd hate to see their source code. I bet it has something to do with their program design...

Mega Man 2.5D. It looks pretty interesting. I'm guessing it will either be completely awesome or a total let-down.

Looks a lot like Mario 2.5D.

Yeah, kind of surprising, yet not at the same time. It's probably worthy of its own thread, but I was hoping for a bit of a ninja reaction here. Oh well.

That's kinda sad. It looks like everything that's been implemented actually works, but they ran out of time before they could do collision detection or physics... or fix the infinite reverse acceleration.

Or worse. Or what is alleged to be a sobaditsgood game. I kind of think they did so. Looks like the kind that you'd pick as the free one on buy2get1 for a party.
