I hear HappyLee and Mars is doing one
I'm doing a NES version right now.
Nice. Good luck beating Phil! That would be an epic first publication.
No, I met warpless, I'm at 4-4.

Why people most refer to the SNES version?

Oh. That could be cool too. Have you found any situations in which Luigi's increased jump height pays off? Edit: Wait, you're doing warpless for NES SMBJ2? That will be rejected...we use the SNES version because it allows you to go to the bonus levels quicker.

I think that will happen later in the game? Please watch my run when I'm finshed, Note that I will do ALL worlds. Aw... I hate the SNES emulator, I can't do it all over again, that means I just wasted my time! Well... looks like I got to do a warpless run of All Night Nippon. Edit: Sorry about all these posts, this is a habit.

Notes: - I think the Super Mario All-stars + SMW ROM is prefered. At least everybody else has been using it. - You did not use the acceleration trick at the start of the level (it is present in SMB1/2j, I don't know about lost levels but it's probably present there too. Also note that I don't know about the differences between Mario and Luigi when it comes to game physics and being able to enter walls etc.). You may want to check the SMV of the published run. - The way you grabbed the Mushroom in 1-1 looked inoptimal. Again, check the published run. Also note that the SMB2j version would use a trick to enter the floor and use a flagpole glitch (with Mario walking against pole). SMB2j and lost levels being different in some ways is what warrants SMB2j warpless having an own run, in my opinion, but then again I have no idea how warpless works in that game, I never played it. - You did not use the normal Flag pole glitch (if at all possible with Luigi). Check the published run. - Grabbing the Fire flower and navigating through the level in 1-2 looked inoptimal (setting up the flower, and bumping into pipes...). - In 1-3, the published run avoids landing on a platform that moves the opposite way, though I don't know if avoiding it does save time (by 21frame-rule). - Also, in 1-3 is where the published run gets the Fire flower. You should get it here too. - In 1-4 you slowed down before one fire bar which seems like it can be avoided. The set of walls near the end can also be handled better, see the published run. Why the need to bump into a platform? - In 2-1, you bumped into the stairs. - In 2-2, you slow down to hit a block and proceed across the midair pipe. The published run however jumps below the pipe and does a walljump. - In 2-4, You did not go through the first wall like the published run does. Also, you slowed down at Bowser again.

When I was attempting to improve Phil's Luigi run, I improved his run by two frames in 1-2. UPDATE: I somehow improved Phil's run by two more frames in 1-2. Total: 4 frames faster than the current run.

Well? How could that be? 2 frames are very easy to be removed by 21-frame rule. And the wiser way to improve the Luigi run is to get the mushroom in 1-1. I have a problem selecting where to get the flower now, there are 5 places to choose but they end up the same time coincidently. I'm improving the Mario run at the moment, more than 100 frames have already been saved.

Its impossible to get the mushroom and do the different flagpole glitch, when Luigi jumps on an enemy, Luigi goes in the air higher than Mario, but good job saving frames in your SMB2 run, try to get the flower on 1-3.

Nothing's impossible to me in SMB. The reason I say that is, I've done it months ago, and it saved plenty of frames.

Thanks! SMB2J TASv3 is just about to be finished. I'll just need to improve a few last scenes in 8-4. Up to now, 101 frames are saved. It would be 106 if I wouldn't have to loose 5 frames to duck the fireball in 8-4.
