Wow, it's going to be pretty interesting to see just how fast the game can get.

No. Getting all the emeralds would add at least 12 min to the video. Also add on time for extra ring collecting and waiting for the portal. Plus, some people might find doing the halfpipe over and over again boring. I want the whole run to be fast throughout. Emerald Hills 1 - 0:21 Emerald Hills 2 - 0:39 One thing I noticed is that if you finish a level too fast, you get a huge time bonus that takes a while to add to your score, plus a free life. It might be faster to slow down at the end, just like in SMB so you don't have to wait for fireworks.

The current record for Emerald Hill 1 is 20 seconds on the actual game, so there's some other route that's faster. http://www.soniccenter.org/videos.php?g=6 Here's a movie page for Sonic 2 level runs.

I don't consider score-counting, cut-scenes and such to be part of the run. Only gameplay is, if u understand what I mean... But hey, that's me. =)

Yeah, I already re-done the first few levels, again. Thanks for the link. I see that they don't have videos for Casino Night Zone, so you guys can look forward to that. Also timed finishing fast vs waiting at the end. Even though the time bonus takes longer, its still faster by about 4 seconds finishing fast. Thats just for zone 1-1 though.

Don't worry, it's coming. I've been really busy with other things though. The partners and I are finally opening up a gaming store and I'm stuck with creating the inventory. I'm also practicing for speedruns to submit to TG. Bisqwit says the section for Genesis movies should be up in a week or two, so Sonic 2 will be definitely be finished by then.

That Oil Ocean trick is already exhibited in the 0:59 run, and a savestate completion can go at least as far as 55.

Is that a corrupt download or something? When I go to download it's only 6.8mb (something like that) and nothing plays.

Not corrupt, but get the codec.
