When you try to record with the Glide 64 Napalm WX plugin, you get avi's that seem to be only 256 colors: http://i43.tinypic.com/bi0wtk.jpg Do others have the same problem and does someone know how this could be fixed? It's the only plugin that emulates the graphics (sky and water) in Goldeneye properly so it would be good if you could make proper avi's with it. I've tried different options in the plugin, different codecs (uncompressed too) and I've tried it with different games, but it has still only produced these weird color avi's. When you play the game with the plugin, it looks good, it's just the avi's that are wrong.

Actually that's 9754 colors. Maybe it records in 16-bit color depth?

hmm, I didn't have this problem when I used Glide 64 Napalm WX. Did you make sure you updated your glide wrapper? Maybe it's your GPU drivers?

I have an updated glide wrapper and graphics drivers, but I still get the same problem. My graphics card is Nvidia 9500 GS.

Did you try the WIP version available here? http://www.emuxhaven.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7202

I hadn't tried it before. I tried it, but it didn't solve the problem either...

HWFBE requires 32-bit colour to be usable. Maybe a hint?

I still haven't solved this. I tried a few different HWFBE options in the plugin but they didn't have any effect either (I didn't know that HWFBE meant "hardware frame buffer emulation", so I didn't respond in a while). I post my settings, in case that helps to figure out the problem, but they should be pretty much default: And here's my nvidia settings: "PhysX GPU acceleration" (whatever that is) is enabled. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Are you capturing in full screen or in window? Try enabling "Use frame buffer objects". Also, does this only happen when capture, and not when playback?

I should also mention that I don't use Mupen internal capture, since it's buggy to hell. Instead I use a modified .kkapture, but it captures very slow and the things you need to do to get it to capture is somewhat a pain.

It only happens when capturing. I've tried the frame buffer objects before, it didn't work. And i can't capture in full screen because i can't access the menus in full screen, and if i start capturing first and then try to go to full screen, mupen shuts down. Yeah, mupens internal capture is a little bad because it desyncs the audio for longer videos, but you can fix that by making 10 minute parts and then joining them together.

I little bad is an understatement... As for your problem. I really have no idea. I avoid internal Mupen capture like the plague. Using .kkapture does not have these problems.

Another bad and a little strange thing about this plugin is that video resolution affects synchronization, so if I have 1024x768 when I record the movie, it has to be that resolution also when I play it back or it won't sync. Aktan, how do you capture with avi's from mupen with .kkapture?

I use a custom build of .kkapture that I modify myself. It's a very slow capture, and requires a certain sound plugin, but it avoids a lot of the problems. The instructions on exactly how to do it is not easy either. I really should write it up, since I've been asked this a couple of times already.
