In the year 2029, evil Emperor Garuda somehow establishes a dictatorial government in the United States. After many lives are lost, two ninjas attempt to overthrow him.
Blue Shadow is one of the rare games in which constantly jumping and slashing is faster than regular running. The author makes sure to use this move extensively both to travel and to deal damage to enemies, and so it may seem that the ninja has a severe case of ADHD.
This game was released in the USA as Shadow of the Ninja.
Note: this movie was played in NTSC mode, even though the game runs under PAL timing. Therefore, the MKV plays 16.7% too fast.

In this movie, the author speeds through the game, beating up all the bad guys quickly and efficiently, making full use of each character — and killing them off when they are no longer useful. The characters' special abilities are abused to provide some unorthodox shortcuts.
All these actions resulted in an improvement of about 19 seconds.

This is the author's 2nd version and is an improvement of about 25 seconds over his previous movie.

Continuing the trend of NES games based on popular Japanese TV shows, Jetman is apparently about multi-colored heroes and robots duking it out. No, it's not Power Rangers.
This movie probably qualifies for "Quickest Giant Robot Fights."
This movie is a 4.46 second improvement over the previous movie by AnS.

Mighty Final Fight is modeled after its arcade cousin Final Fight but features more cartoon-like graphics and lacks multiplayer. In this movie, the mayor of Metro City spins, punches and piledrives his way to save his daughter, all without the benefit of a shirt. The author rarely takes damage, with the notable exception of multiple suicides down an elevator shaft.

The joyrider from last time heard news that the crazy dictator was back at it, so he brought along his friend for the ride. This time, however, they're not quite as considerate. Needless to say, there are plenty of explosions.
This movie improves the previous movie by over 45 seconds. Most of it comes from using two destructojeeps instead of just one, which saves a lot of time on bosses.

Demon Sword (1989) is the kind of a game that Legend of Kage should have been.
It features a hero named Victar, who can easily jump on a tall tree (and sometimes over it, since he can't jump much lower) and is willing to defeat the evil demon that conquered the world. The key to defeating him is Victar's sword, which is conveniently broken into pieces that must be collected over the span of the game.
So watch his sword getting bigger and more powerful every few minutes, until its wielder finally reaches maturity decides it's big enough to save the world.
This is yet another large improvement for this game. This time 61 seconds were saved over the previous movie by Yunshui.

TMNT3 is the last installment of the TMNT series on the NES. Unlike in the second game, the turtles have different special attacks with different power and speed. The special attack also consumes one life point, unless there is only one life point remaining.
Raphael is by far the fastest turtle, but he also has the weakest special attack. Michaelangelo has the strongest special attack, though he is slow. Leonardo is also used occasionally in this run, since his special attack can hit some bosses twice. Unfortunately for Donatello fans, Don is not used in the run.
This movie improves the previous one by over 3 minutes, due to the use of two turtles and careful management of score and health.

In this Japan only game, our psychic hero with a magical trident must defeat a variety of enemies, including possibly trolls. The kind with big pink fluffy hair.
This run features no death and very accurate use of weapons. The trident in particular is very similar to Mega Man V.

The Adventures of Bayou Billy (1989) contains a trinity of genres: beat 'em up (like Streets of Rage), sniping (like part of Golgo 13), and car racing (like Rad Racer). In the game, "Bayou" Billy West fights his way through Louisiana en route to New Orleans in order to save his kidnapped girlfriend, the luscious Annabelle Lane.
The American version of this game is a lot more difficult than the Japanese one (Mad City), although this video makes it seem easy.
This is a 56 second improvement over the previous movie by Phil.

The Cobra Command threatens the world and the G.I. Joe team is needed to stop it!
G.I. Joe (1991) is a difficult platformer because of its intricate routes and bosses, but the author makes short work of both. In particular, this movie sports some of the shortest boss fights of any game. It also provides entertainment through varied character and vehicle use (thankfully, the game still manages not to lag immensely even with all the action thrown in).
This is an improvement of 107 seconds to the previous movie by Ferret_Warlord.
